Swift isn't bad if you're a local driver, when it comes to dealing with ######## at least.
My DM had a reputation for being a real #######, he and I got along enough to tolerate being around each other though. Might have something to do with him having served in the Marines and me having been in the Seabees.
Other than that though, I was on the intermodal fleet in San Bernardino, CA. It's still my favorite trucking job ever, only problem was the hours weren't there due to night shift not having anything left by the time I clocked in.
The OTR guys always had piss poor attitudes at the Mira Loma terminal, meanwhile we and the other local fleets all seemed to be less pissed off.
I always just assumed Swift is like many other companies out there... tolerable and really not all that bad if you're local, but complete ### if you're OTR.

there is a company in Streator Illinois, Luckey, I worked there for a few years, call them, they will send you out with a trainer for a few weeks, then send you out. a lot better than swift. You will have to drive back and forth as they don't let take trucks home. 815-672-2931 ask for mary lou. I don't work there anymore, moved on, but if your looking they will treat you better than swift. trucks are governed at 65, most have apu's.

governed at 62? are they really that anal? you aren't saving any fuel when it takes twice as long to get from a to b.

With Swift being at 62, does that mean there are drivers going 124?
And going 62 generally uses less fuel per mile than going 70.
You need to learn a little math, and a few other things.
Going 65 vs. 62 is less than 5%, and at 70 it is just about 11%. Hardly twice.
But going 70 will probably use about 15% more fuel for the same distance.
