:mhissyfit: I was lied to, they didn't teach me anything, :mmad: I'm going to sue!, And I will win, because somebody owes me a living, DON'T WORK FOR (IN CERT COMPANY HERE), They set you up to fail!!, Sorry for the sarcasm!! but just so tired of these "DONT WORK HERE" threads, To the wannabe's, trucking companies that train, will train you the basics, your OTR driver trainer, should be showing you a little more, Then it's up to you to take what they teach you and grow from there, Coming on here to whine, just shows your immaturity, Nothing the company did can be construed as "ILLEGAL" learn a lesson, and move on, find a different company to work for until you find the one that fits you the best, No one can set you up to fail? only you can chose that, there is tons of information out there, find it, absorb it, apply it, Good luck where ever you land

I would love to do research, sadly your post doesn't contribute to the pool of information.

There probably aren't too many positive comments floating around about Swift. I drove team with them for a little while, and I have no huge complaints.
i got good miles, was home when I needed to be. I made good money, and drove pretty decent equipment. If we did encounter any problems? We addressed them, and moved forward. I guess it also helps that my teammate was also a good friend of mine.

I never dove for swift but I pass them all the time. I always wonder if the drivers get sick of being one of the slowest trucks on the rode.

Knowing one's limitations, using your voice to speak up for yourself, asking questions even when you think they might be dumb, listening to that little voice inside of you when it says "OH, NO!! That looks like ice. I better get off the road!!"
And being able to count to 6--- one one-thousand, two one-thousand, three one-thousand...

These are all the hallmarks of being an adult.
Passing trucking school and having a CDL in your back pocket is really just the beginning. Kinda like first we learn to sit, then crawl, then walk, then run. Depending upon YOU as an individual, that CDL can mean you learned to roll over, or you learned to crawl. Only experience can teach you to walk.

Running...I'll leave that to your peers to judge.

Coming on here and having a temper-tantrum will get you a time out.
Giving us some info and asking us "what did I do wrong?" ...well,...more than likely you'll be heard.

What happened to Boy Scouts earning their merit badge for MAP READING by the age of 10 ?
Maybe map reading in CDL school should include the ABC's and 123's as well.

As a trainer myself its very obvious within the course of the first day if someones going to cut it or not. There are people who are naturals at driving then there is everyone else. You cannot teach intelligence or common sense. Some people just freeze and theyre the ones to get the hell out of the truck before they stop on an interstate to decide whether to take that exit or not. Having been in the industry as a driver, trainer, safety, and ops you can size up the new hires quickly. There are good drivers and those who aspire to be mediocre. Gump was never so correct as "Stupid is as Stupid does..."
The cold, hard truth: Just because you graduate or pay your way thru the CDL mill doesn't mean you are talented enough to operate a combination vehicle.
