    Perfect example of why u-turns should be avoided. It's a wonder there weren't more serious injuries.

    Aren't U-turns against Swift company policy? I'm pretty sure they used to be. Heck, U-turns were against policy for every outfit I have driven for! Getting reported pulling a u-turn was a sure fired way to get yourself fired real quick...

    I don't recall my company ever addressing u-turns. I don't know if they allow them or not. I've never made a u-turn simply because it's illegal in so many places. It's also unsafe in a lot of situations.

    I bet the driver of the Swift truck now realizes that he was pulling a 53' trailer behind him.

    Can that log truck driver be any luckier (given the circumstances) in that the swift driver was carrying a load of styrofoam cups?

    Bubble wrap or packing peanuts would be about the only better options!
