Well we would think so BUT all these bottom feeders have gotten together and decided that as you accepted to go to their orienation and they spent money on you ie: bus/airline/auto gas, motel, food, medical and PP test you are actually "hired". You'll notice if you FAIL an orienation you'll get released from orientation but if you decide that you and said bottom feeder aren't compatible they will say quit or walked out of orientation. Now, get this: There is a NEW driver reporting agency called Driver Facts (another bottom feeder) that has a button that these bottom feeder companies can click on that says HOT HEAD"! So apparently form new reports coming out if you decide to walk out or tell the recruiter to stuff it you're a hot head! I wonder if they have a button that says "beat recruiter or dispatcher, safety director or company owner to a pulp for lying or stretching the truth or failing to pay drivers?" HMMMMM? OH WTF was I thinking? I'm thinking it might be a good idea for any TTR member that lives close to a driver mill or one of these bottom feeder companies to just pay a weekly visit by the motel they use and let them know about TTR!
My hubby's company manual from Swift is dated back to 9/2004 which gives you a website called Online Employment Verification Services dot com (they use the acronym to access the website) for driver information (almost identical to DAC, only more detailed). When you type in the website it takes you directly to Driver Facts. This company is older than many think and it's still a valid website. I'm not sure how old this company is though, but it's at least 6 years old. Checked on this company and it was incorporated in 2003.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Now that's scary! I thought I "knew it all" only to find out Driver Facts has been around for that long! Geeze Louise what else has been lurking out there that we don't know or have not heard about!
It does make one wonder, doesn't it? I never knew what a DAC report was until hubby was wrongfully terminated. We couldn't understand why he was being declined by trucking companies, where before he NEVER had a problem getting hired, and I mean never.
I couldn't of said this any better myself! Good to see someone with logic on the board. Truth be told most drivers are exactly that drivers not businessmen, in any case the idea that ALL trucking companies would perpetrate a plan to keep new drivers coming in and sideline old drivers is just down right ridiculous hype.
My time with Swift was nice. I had a decent trainer, and a good DM. After I got off my trainer's truck, I was on the Sears account and had steady runs. Did well for me. About a month by myself, I got a brand new volvo and loved it. Due to personal family reasons, I had to stop but have been thinking about going back for sometime now.
Rollover, that's great man! BFI!!!! I smell a new thread coming! The Rollover BFI Awards Thread! Great work my friend!
if this is wes from houston, you dont keep your good drivers.i wanted to come back.im rehire-able..just not at your terminal.you said i shut down to much for unsafe conditions.ok,i get it.ive since driven in those conditions, and would push myself more.basicly, youre saying i was to safe.lol.well...ive moved on,and if swift gets apus,or allows the driver to idle in extreme heat/cold,i might consider trying to come back.until then, ill be your compitition, and pass all your trucks,be on time, and safe.i wont be shutting down near as much.have fun.:+)
