Swift - switching from van to flatbed?

    Well, I will say that 3000 or more is very doable, every week, once you learn the system and how to manage your hours. If your load can't deliver until Monday but you can get there saturday night, get it t-called... don't make your deliveries on friday afternoon... don't log more on duty time at a shipper than you need to, basic stuff that applies to van guys too.

    I'm guessing that the weekends are your down time then? If not, what's your home time like?

    Sorry for asking so many questions. I never actually found anyone else that does flatbed for swift besides you.

    Weekends are down time if you get caught without a load on friday, which will almost always be your fault for not getting empty earlier in the day. Layover pay is $50 per day, vs. $180 for clicking off 500 miles, so ya hustle to get empty early friday morning. Hometime is whenever I feel like going home... I don't really have a set routine, I just stay out until I want to go home.

    We go to sturgis MI a lot. Sometimes pick up steel from middletown OH. Other than that not too much action in those states, besides just passing through (ohio, anyway).

    can someone give me a update on how long I would have to wait to get a swift flatbed trainer also is there a lot of loads going thru Georgia? Thank you in advance.
