Was a 400 series Volvo. Has low milage, but designed for little people. The ergonomics Suck! I can't see the fender mirror due to the window pilar being in the way. I can't put the seat bAck far enough to be comfortable and it rides like crap compared to the International Pro Series I was driving. Big guy needs big truck. If you can't be comfortable you will get fatigued quickly. Without cruise, I get cramps in my right foot on the go pedal. I am waiting for a load as I type to make my way back to Syracuse to dump this pig. All in all it's a well built truck; very quiet and nice panel layout for controls. lacks the controls on the steering wheel (cruise, interupt for markers, stereo)
The 780 dual bunk might be a better fit. Otherwise I will take anything else as long as the seat goes back far enough.

I have a question for Bill.
Do you feel you will be able to be properly trained while on a dedicated run?
I ask this because after training you will go OTR. It may be for a limited time and then you get lucky and get on a dedicated, or it may be for six months.
If you have not drivin the rockeys or any other large mountian chain then you will not be ready for them when you get a load out there.
Most companys, and I thought swift as well. Have rules set up where you need to run at least 2 major passes while in training. Both up and down. To show that you can control the truck safely, and to learn how too.
There is not a hill in the east that will teach you the skills you need. A few in WV are close. But none in the North east. This is why most companys will not train new drivers on a regional run. -
I can agree with CD , sure some the mountains in PA or WV come close but nothing like the 10,000plus ft elevations in the rockies. BUt hey its all very nice scenery anyways

after training there is a good chance that i will never even see the rockies. swift has comfort zones. the ones i will probaly be in are the northeast and east of the mississippi. swift requires 30 days otr when completing training. after that i hope to get a dedicated run that has expanded. it is only about a 45 minute ride from my house. gthey have already assigned a driver that will be going there after he finished his 30 days otr.
i might not ever see the rockies. -
