I was told same #### last night but a recruiter called me this morning I missed the call and go in touch with another recruiter and she said I am in the perfect area blah blah blah and that I should call back tomorrow and ask for her. The other recruiter had said there is a month long waiting list. So yea, I will let you know when I find out in the morning elyga73. -Joe PS I will be going to the Syracuse terminal, I already have my CDL so I don't have to go through the school.
I already have my CDL too.Recruiter said me call next week...and I have been approved to join the swift team two weeks ago. Will see ...
I have been approved to join the swift team two weeks ago,but today Recruiter said no openings right now, call next week....thats problem...
I was approved at the beginning of June and didn't get a date for orientation until Sept 15th. Just be patient and call you recruiter about every week so they remember your name. If you have not been in any legal trouble get a passport. There is a lot of frieght moving out of Canada. It is runs to the sputhern part of the east coast. Anything that is a misdemenor in the US might be con sisered a felony in Canada and disqualify you. Swift will pay to get you a FAST card if you qualify. They are asking present drivers if they want to go to Canadal. Good luck, just remenber there is a wait, gthey only put 12-15 people thru the Syracuse terminal every orientation.
I've filled out around 15 applications and Swift was the only one to call me back immediatley I think I have been waiting for over 2 weeks. My record is clean and my MVR is clean. I spoke with the recruiter this morning and some other "lucky guy" got into a cancelled slot. So the recruiter sent me over a employment verication form which I printed out signed, scanned and sent by e-mail and fax to the recruiter. She also told me that my background was clean and that I had 1 violation on my MVR which was for a seat belt so all in all I am good to go. Now I am just waiting for more info from her. So it looks like that waiting list is long after all
Guys, I understand the need for a job, but believe me this is a tough career. It has been a love hate relationship. I started in Aug. But once the romance was over I was on my own; and believe me it's tough. Being lost all the time, staring at 12 ft bridges cause you made a wrong turn. The list goes on. There are good days and bad. Even drivers who have been on the road for years have days when the couldn't back a truck into a football field without hittin a fan in the bleachers. I have worked over 60 hours nonstop in days and have maybe a 500 bucks in pay. Work at McDonalds you make more and be get to go home at night. All that aside, I'm the sick one that likes the job. Be prepared is all Im saying. Brent
Trouble is McDonalds won't even hire anyone lol...But I understand what you are saying. It's not a vacation, and it ain't no picnic. I appreciate it Flatbroke . Stay safe. -Joe
