I am still doing dedicated Target. It may end after the holidays, but I am hoping to be asked to stay. It 99.5% drop and hook. If it is a live unload I give the store the paperwork and tell them to wake me up when thewy are done.
I get about 2400 miles a week. I made it on accelarated pay in less than 3 weeks. This means a trip goes on my pay as soon as I send in my e-call. I am running mostly to a storre that is 7 miles from home. I can go home for the night if I want as long as I make my pick up time the next day. With the holidays there is not much time off. I have been at home and gotten a call at 8:00am to go back and do a trip.
Getting real good a backing with the account. I do at least 2 drop and hooks a day. The real good part is I get paid at the account rate not the otr rate.
I run out of the same place, we have a satilite treminal at the dc, it's off exit 16 on I87. I talk with my DM every day. In person, not on qc. I deliver in malls and shopping centers. Black Friday was a trip, I did a trip from NY to Millbury MA, returned to NY and took a load to the Bronx. Slept at the 1st service plaza I came to because I was running out of hours.
Good luck granite, be safe out there, you don't haul anything worth getting hurt over.
Got to drive in the snow a couple of times. It really brings out the stupid in people, doesn't it.
Be safe guys, and keep in touch

I don't know how to mail while on the road. All I ever see are the same Pilots. NaNa might be able to give you an answer.

hope btwn you all can help me...moved up from Fla.2.5 yrs ago.bill,I'm from beantown. I bought a house in western NC.,does anyone know about Swift Flatbed out here? Have CDL-A,haven't driven in yrs......"96",is there a chance for me? I wont bull #%*P ya's I had a DUI in "94&96", but since I have gotten over my issues and been straight for 13+yrs,raised 3 children(young adults now) I'm looking to fall back on my CDL and make it work for me.I drove flatbed for heavy equipment in fla.But I'm willing to start fresh if I must...would appreciate any help you could advise me of,willing to learn and do 48.What would you do.....besides the screw-ups! -
I have no idea about flatbedding out there. I would think your best option is to get on the phone and call the recruiters. Talk to them and ask about the DUIs. Do NOT try and hide them. Experience from 13 years ago is going to count as no experience but it'll serve you well on the road. I wish you luck!!
SprkPlug62 Thanks this.
