    Sparkplug

Fill out an app on line. Pick a reruiters name and then follow up on the phone within 1 or 2 days. My recruiter's name was Tamala Wilcher and sahe is from Menphis.

Be honest and don't try to hide anything.

Not driving for so long will hurt. They might want you to yake a refresaher course.

Look for a cdl school near you and see if they offer one.

    Good luck

    Bill

I'll have to see how the ranking works. I run a load a day. I have 92 loads since I started in Sep. What does this do to my chanceds of being late.

I never worry about it. I have never been late or better yet I use the tools to report my statis to cover my butt. So you should never have a sevice failure if your paying attention.

Im in Syracuse after about 8 hours of driving from Columbus. Headed home for Xmas. Everything has been going pretty good; seems like I have beendoi g it forever. Getting lots of miles etc.... I'm considering looking into a dedicated route so I can be home more often. Still wish I had an International versus this Volvo. They have a much better ride.

Everyone have a great Xmas and be safe.

I will be home for 2 days for Christmas. At least as of today. Won't be surprised if I get a load for Thursday. But will still make it home that night. Driving in the malls will be a trip on Thursday. Been running long hours all week. Friday was to Long Island. Saturday was Millbury MA. Sunday was Augusta ME with a backhaul out of Hollis ME. Picked up a load of water. Got back Monday afternoon and sent right out to Leominster MA. Slept there and drove back to NY this morning and then to North Attleboro MA and back.

Trading my old truck (455,000 miles) in tomorrow. Getting one with onlt 150,000 on it. Probably another Volvo but hoping for a pro star.

Everybody have a Merrry Christmas (of happy holidays for all you politically correct perple)

i'm a little aggravated, sent in my home time macro three weeks ago to be home on 12/24:biggrin_25510:.
spent three days in laredo and now im at a red roof inn in flint mi because town ordinance prevents me from parking at walmarts and other places. if only i had another hour of time could have made it to the terminal.
picking up a load at the terminal in the morning then off to new york, won't make it to NH until Saturday, log it legal even if it means not going home:biggrin_25513:

Got a new truck today. A 2009 Volvo 670. It only has 140,000 on it. Almost broken in. Nice tight shift pattern. Rides real nice. Home for Thursday and Friday. Did a drop and hook and went home. Don't have another load until 3:00 Saturday afternoon.

    Everybody have a Meerry Christmas.

this next load i got is a pain to, its got 1 day on it and im about ten and a half to forty-five minutes away.
sent messages back and forth to the terminal, finally called. explained it to the overnight guy, that my estimate doesn't include weather or traffic.
i hate running right up to the 11hr, liked his answer take it a step at a time. pick it up and run it as far as i can is basically what i'm going to have to do.
i'm very meticulous with my planning, perhaps sometimes to much for my own good, but i like to have a plan.
i try to plan all my deliveries so that i have at least an hour to burn before my 11 so that i can find a place to park after delivery
