Is that 200 hours actual driving time or does all on duty count?.

I'm in the flatbed division right now with them, they will keep you busy depending on what division you are in but so far what they have told you is all true.

It would be trivial to program the camera with a reverse motion sensor alarm, meaning that it sends an alert when it detects no movement for an extended period of time. (such as if it is covered while driving)
I have heard that some have this, and I would assume Swift would have done this as well.

I wonder if you could trick it by putting an iPad in front of it playing a looped video of the cab. Lol

    RedRover and speedyk Thank this.

hi there, i know this post is really old but my dad was 3 weeks into his otr training with his mentor and he is being called in for an evaluation of his driving. is this a bad thing or is this something they routinely do?

Keep us posted. If it is bad news, we'll help him get back on the road with another company.

If he has racked up a high safety score it is a bad thing.
High numbers are bad, zero is best.

I haven't worked at Swift in 2 years and some change.

I do know back then because I was a mentor trained about roughly a 40 students at the time I don't know how they might have changed things.

We did occasionally upgrade students early under certain circumstances cuz it can be done in about three and a half weeks if you are really flying quickly. Burning that clock.

Other than that as moose suggested he could be being brought in to go over safety stuff I don't know.

I do know back then at least under certain circumstances say a mentor needed to cut loose for whatever reason and someone was close they would instead of continuing with someone else would on rare occasions just take them in and see if they could pass the test.
