How do you even know when it's approved? They don't frickin' say anything.

I know that with us, when we do a MAC 8, home time request we will get a msg back saying that home time req for the date has been processed, which means that it is now in the system. You can also put in a home time request as soon as you come out of the house with your first dispatch, as long as it is 12 days.

Yeah I got that message but nothing after that. It's like they're hoping you'll forget you want to go home lol.

I'm going to try this whole refusing loads thing, if I get fired I'll be sure and let you guys know.

    As far as I know...

You have to be out at least 12 days before your next home time.
You have to request home time at least 10 days in advance.

I did a request for 8 or 9 days hence, and the system kicked back a message that 10 days was the minimum time.

Yeah, I didn't get a message kicked back. I was already out over a month before I sent it in. We'll see.

Yea I did call and ask , she said its all computer generated now , so if I would run into problems on that route to take a safer route , and that's all I needed to hear . Lol

Oh finally watched my overspend video today . Lol. And took that freak in hazmat test ( failed ) . Oh well better luck next time . Do we get paid anymore if we pass it ? Thats all I did on that kiosk thing because it was about as slow as hell , and kept freezing in the middle of what I was doing , plus some rude ### behind me was making smart comments , like "man I ain't got all night " " I wounder if ill get this scanned by Wednesday "
dude was about to get a ### woopin. Lmao

Oh well tis life always someone in a hurry , so I logged off and said , here don't me to hold such a important person up . Lol. Kinda pissed me off a bit ..

Yes, let us know how it works out for you.

I have done it SO many times, and no one ever says a word about it.

They do sometimes send a more personal request to do a certain load, with the promise of getting you home on the next load.
When that happens you can either take their word for it (although you might have a different set of planners that know nothing of that promise once you reach your destination) or tell them yes IF they also send you that next pplan that gets you home.
You are allowed to put them on the spot, just as you are allowed to refuse any load because of a home time request.

Then again, you might be in an area with no freight to your home - so you might have to take a couple that work you there.
Still, one (or two at most) loads should get you somewhere you can get home from. Swift goes everywhere!

In over 3 years with Swift, I have NEVER been told to either take the load 'or else'.

Yea I got the same message , I even called my DM and she told me . Once you put it in , if it says it has been processed it is basically approved , but I always call to make sure . I wanna go home when I want to go home ..
plus they tell us to make appointments on home time , so I wanna make sure before I make plans .

Well, you HAVE to pass the HM test.
So you will need to take it again.
It is not that difficult, and if you do it on your computer online it is also 'open book'.
You can take it as many times as needed, and it still counts once you pass it.

I got a couple more questions wrong so I failed a couple times too.
I just restarted the test, remembering the questions I got wrong (or you could write them down), and did it until I passed.

Failing the test is just like not taking it. You will be put on safety hold until you pass. That means no pplans, no loads.

As to the fuel route... see how easy it was?
And if you need to fuel while on the different route just send in the request from anyplace we normally fuel at (Flying J, Pilot, Loves are the best).
You will be sent a new computer generated fuel route from your present location.

    tangerineGT Thanks this.

If that machine would have been working right , and I wasnt being rushed . I probably would have taken it again ,
I tried to take it on my computer , but It wouldn't let me open it . Idk what was going on, I am supposed to go back into the terminal tomorrow anyways to pick up another trailer for a short load , so I can sorta stay local . I am going home friday . Well at least I hope I am . Lol. Come hell or high water I will be . Haha haha

Glad I didn't give up , things are working them selves out , its just taking some time .
I have to pass that test by the 25th it says
