Probably not, unless you are on-duty at the time - which, technically, you are supposed to be if you are doing job related stuff.
Get to a Swift terminal and ask for the books. I suppose the Central terminals might have them as well.
Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
Hazardous Materials Compliance Pocketbook
Emergency Response Guidebook
And, by the way, I have been asked by DOT if I had these books in the truck when I was pulled in for an inspection.
You NEED them! -

I've been reading most of the posts in here and just wanted to add some information that I have learned since coming on with Swift almost 15 months ago. My husband and I are O/O....he's been driving for 20 years with different companies (almost 2 years with Swift) and I've been with 3 other companies before coming here and getting married.
For LadyK (and any other teams).....when we do the Mac 34 and it asks for our team available hours we always put 22, because that is the amount of hours we will have for tomorrow, or after our reset.
Keep an eye on your settlements. You can view them via your computer or on the kiosk. If you see that a trip (or reimbursable items) you scanned in is not there, immediately call Payroll. They will tell you, at this time, that they did not get the paperwork, or they did get it but because the trip number, truck number, driver code, trailer number do not match up it then goes in the "What do we do with this file" (this happened to us because my D did not look like a D on my husband's driver code on the Trip Sheet ONLY). They do not let drivers know unless you call!! This usually happens at the kiosk because someone unplugged the scanner. You can get a fax number directly to Payroll......oh, and Payroll goes home at 2pm on Fridays.
When you send a Free Form it goes directly to your DL....unless he/she is not working and then it kinda goes into cyberspace.
When you hit "Reply" on a message, that reply does not go back to whoever sent it. It goes to your DL, or whoever is supposed to be watching their board while they are gone.
Rapid Response is only there Mon-Fri, 8am - 4pm?? Phoenix time......but they are very good at getting answers for you...LOL
That's all I can think of, and since I am supposed to be in bed sleeping, I'd better head that way....LOLLady K, scottied67, clayshot and 1 other person Thank this. -

So, I just signed up here despite reading posts since Central switched to Swift's system back in February. I am done with the drama from the switch. Anyway, I am a L/O with Central and one year of payments done on a black 2014 Pete 386. Looking to get out of the lease so I can leave on good terms. I have about $2,000 in the maintenance account and the truck is in excellent condition... well minus a few scratches and window chips that I will get worked on before I leave. The truck is equipped with a fridge. I installed a CB and a 1600 watt power inverter plus a microwave. Trying to get out of the contract by the end of March or first week of April.
PM me for contact info. -
I hate our trailers . Thats all . Good night !!

Thanks for clearing that up. When someone mentioned "open book", I figured it was some internal exercise exclusive to Swift.
