Or do you mean 'no excuses accepted' ? :)

The long and short of it is, I was asked a few times why I dont come around so much anymore, the awnser is I am kinda tired of the supertrucker rambo speak that goes on sometimes, people spouting off on things they only assume they know about, and it does not matter the topic. It gives me a headache and frustrates me at times.

So, When I listen to someone assume what I know, dont know, or am learning it is frustrating, more so when its someone I generally respect and enjoy hearing from.

    Be safe all.

Its in my game plan by the end of the year, yes. I am still working out some kinks in the plan but they are unkinking fairly quickly, with my boyfriend leaving that took out a huge kink :)

There is a matter of savings, that will take 3-5 months, maybe less, and a couple other things I want to work out for myself. I have a large lack of some things that others do, for example a family, a home, things of that nature, so financially I have less responsability, I have some buisness experiance, and a team of people behind me that can assist with several aspects I alone cannot handle.

At soonest? May, but being as I have a trip to vegas planned end of april/early may thats not the best time. So End may early june at soonest.

I have a opprotunity that Rick has presented me and I would be a fool to kick it aside.

I am new to this forum. I have been a company driver for 7 years (flatbed, North East) and have recently been contemplating whether or not to sign on with a OTR co. and take them up on the lease offer. From what I have read so far here I can't see how you can make the payments, afford the fuel, pay the tolls, permits, insurance, maintenance and various taxes and still have enough left over to pay your monthly home bills never mind put anything in the bank towards a nest egg.

I must be overlooking something but a Swift lease being around $525 a week and only taking in .94 a mile just doesn't add up. You have to be making more than .94 a mile or that lease would be financial suicide. Someone please help me on the weekly breakdown of a average lease in regards to expenses vs revenue.

Thank you in advance. I just don't want to waste my time with the recruiters if it isn't worth it for a solo driver to take home at least $750-1000 per week on a lease deal.

You forgot that high dollar FSC BS they give you! That'll take you up to high dollar mileage pay of maybe a whole $1.20 a mile! WHEEEEE rolling in the dough there! Barely scraping by with all that money keeping that company owner in the poor house as you make all the truck payments, fuel payments and other costs of running his business for him! And the world thinks Bernie Madoff (you know who I mean!) was a bad man!

There is really no need, because you have answered your own question. A lease is a good way for a solo driver to get his first truck and become an owner-op, or an opportunity for a team to get into a new truck. It will not make you wealthy, or make the payments on your nice house, while you are leasing. It is a sacrifice that you make to get your foot in the door to the trucking business. Once you get the truck paid off, even if you have to make payments on a balloon payment, you get an appreciable pay raise, a reward for your efforts, and an introduction into the exciting world of assets and depreciation. Whether or not you choose to go forward and wear out another new truck is up to you.

In all fairness, there is an obscene amount of money to be made, or lost, by leasing. It depends on the decisions you make, and a certain element of chance.

Expect between $0 and $1700 per week, on a lease deal. Expect it, and be prepared for it. If you're not comfortable with that, don't sign the papers.

actually its not quite accurate----it should be ---expect to make between -700 and 1700 per week
if you take a week off you are already in the hole--if you piss off somebody---you go in the hole
