I only remember one problem I ever had with swift trucks . The are SLOW and make themselves as hard as possible to pass! God help you if two swift trucks get to Racing in a stiff wind!

Try Total transportation of MS. The HQ is in Jackson,MS.I worked there for 6 mos..out of Tupelo terminal, until my Multiple Sclerosis acted up and it was time to call it quits..

A friend of mine just quit driving for Swift not too long ago, he did go through their driving school and even he said that DOT was still set up in the main office then and still is. They got in serious trouble for log book violations. It wasn't the drivers who were at fault...it was the dispatchers who pushed the drivers to run over on their logs.

Yes their turcks are slow, but most big companies now have them set that way because of insurance reasons.
The upkeep of the truck is another problem, they rarely maintain their trucks, so you see too many in the shops for repairs. Many drivers are complaining about losing miles, time and money because of their trucks always being in the shop. -
okay i think after googeling swift and no one here really has much good to say about them im thinking about staying away from them. they dont sound like a company i would like to work for. thanks for the insight

They gave us a crappy truck that broke down too much, no miles. The horror of this company was when they gave us a load going to Riverside, Ca. down to a grocery distrubution. The dispatch was giving us a real bad time about hiring us lumpers, which I didn't think $150 was even bad for a full truck that was a complete breakdown load. They kept us waiting for 8 hours with no reply. My husband had one horrible abcess in his tooth and was also sick with the flu. I had no choice but to unload this trailer all by myself.
But my husband wouldn't have it so he came in and started helping me. I fought with him to get back in the truck, but by that time it was too late because that's when a whole pallet weighing at about 600lbs came down and hit my husband right in the back of the head. This broke his neck..but he didn't know it until he tried to get out of bed the next day and couldn't move. 5 years of workers comp and surgeries to repair the broken vertibraes C-5 C-6 and C-7, and with a lot of hardware in his neck. All because they refused to hire us cheap lumpers.
Dick Simon was no better, after my husband was done with all the battles of CRST and by the grace of God was still able to drive truck, we went to work for D.Simon. My husband did the best he could to drive but it wasn't working out too well for him so he quit and I went solo. But he was still able to come with me as a passenger by he had to surrender his CDL.
I drove my butt off for these people..never gave my dispatcher any problems. But I fell very sick from the infection from a tooth abcess and my face was so swelled that I couldn't even see out my right eye. All I wanted from the dispatcher was to see a dentist or doctor to prescribe me some antibiotics to kill the infection, but that was too much for them and they wouldn't allow it. They kept me running until I was so sick I couldn't see straight. I managed to get a load back to my home terminal in Fontana and thats when I left for a few hours and had my husband drive me to the doctors. They gave me pain pills which was tylenol with codine and then antibiotics. I knew I couldn't drive by DOT standards if I took the pain pills..so I didn't take them. Just the antibiotics. Well then I got this crazy lady that was in charge of driver services threatening me and telling me to get my butt to West Valley City, Utah so that she can talk to me. I ask her politely that if she is going to fire me to do it in Fontana at my home terminal and not far away in Utah. She assured me that she wasn't going to fire me and then I took aload to Utah. Once I got there, I let her know and she never answered me on the qualcomm. I even walked into the office and ask to speak with her...I got no help. So I continued to take my load on to Wyoming. About 40 miles out of town I get this message telling me that I better turn my truck around or face being arrested by the state troopers.
It was her telling me this. So I turned the truck around and headed back to the main terminal. I walked into her office and the fight began, she tired to tell me that I was lying about the abcess, but when I was standing there in her office my face was horrible and all swollen to the point my eye was black and blue, I could barely talk. I told her that this was no ping pong ball inside my cheek and showed her the paperwork from the doctor. I even gave her the two pill bottles and told her to count the pills in each bottle to prove that I hadn't taken any of the pain pills. This lady got me so mad my blood was boiling..so I threw the paperwork at her and told her I quit! The I had to sell everything on my truck including CB radio, refrig, tv and everything I had just to buy two greyhound bus tickets home.JustSonny Thanks this.
