I'd love to see someone try and OD on pot. Not while driving a truck of course but it would be funny to see. Something tells me they would die from all the junk food they would consume in the process first.

Seriously though if you plan on driving a CMV don't smoke. I have no problem with those who choose to smoke but with truck driving you are playing with your life, others lives and possible jail time if something goes wrong. Its not like some office job where if you pop positive you only get fired.

    Cochise Thanks this.

I had shoulder surgery so couldn't drive for a while. I took another job but I'm deciding now that driving is a better deal for me and I miss it.

Oh boy don't waste your time with Swift. You will most likely be fired within 30 days and I cannot believe you would come here and say this. Save your money and why not think about giving up the drugs we have enough of you guys out here running over families.

AZS, Cochise and kraziklown Thank this.

Haha I was thinking the same thing. I was so happy when I saw another Houston wannabe but sadly I stoped smoking weed whn I was 15. I was looking into Swift as well. Have not talked with a recruiter, I have a perfect record except for 3 tickets for no reg no inspection no insurance. Got 3tickets for the same thing in 2 days. Not sure if that ruins my chances. I mean my ins rates did not go up or anything. My car broke down and I was driving my offroad bronco around so It had no tags. Good luck putting down the pipe.

I am in the same boat but with 3 years off the road. Female recruiter in Phoenix called me this morning after I submitted on line application last night. I would like any current info on this and all matters dealing with Swift. Thanks in advance.

As I tell everyone who actually wants to get clean, stay clean and start over: Test yourself before submitting to a DOT drug test. Test kits are available at Walmart for around $35. Once you are clean, just don't do it any more. If you can't comply then don't bother getting your CDL. Or, if you do insist on getting it, go work for Werner or JB Hunt or some independent O/O....anybody but Swift. Quite honestly, if you don't want to conduct safety sensitive business like driving drug free, I don't want you on my team.

Everybody deserves a chance. Your chance is in getting your crap together and cleaning up before trying to be a driver. If you blow that by continuing behavior you know is unlawful and can cost you your livelihood, don't come crying around for sympathy. You had your chance. You blew it. I won't care what happens to you at that point. It would have been a choice you made to smoke weed or get some blow after knowing the results of a positive test.

The tools are available to everyone. If you have money to spend on dope, you have money to buy a home test kit. It's entirely your decision. That's all the "chance" you'll get from me.

Now. Before the dopers, ex dopers and their supporters jump in the middle of me: I don't care what you do if you're on your own time. I am around people who live to smoke and smoke to live. But if you want to be in this profession, you no longer are entitled to do any bloody thing you want "on your own time." You gave up that right when you agreed to random drug testing.

Strange that a potential employee would put something like that on a public forum. Lonestar956, you must think that company reps don't read these posts.

    Wow.
