Swift Transportation

I am looking forward to that part I still have a week to start school. Would it be possible if I want to be on the road longer than a week or two with a mentor? I would think it would be better to stay with a mentor for a longer time.

 

When I went to training for Stevens transport it was 9 weeks with a trainer/ mentor. So yes also depends on the company how long they feel you need to be teamed up with a trainer.

 

That is a very long time 9 weeks. How was it like being with someone 24/7 for 9 weeks?

 

It's rough but once you're use to how things are ran it's not too bad. I believe it was 5 weeks with one trainer and 4 with another. Kinda feels like boot camp in a way breaking you down building you up.

 

Sounds great!!! I can't wait until I get on the road. Are you still with Stevens?

 

Haha no that was back in 2010. I'm sure you'll do great definitely beats a 9 to 5 job

 

Yep, that and I want to see the US that and one of the best things about being a truck driver you can live any part of the US you want.

 

Opportunities are endless... The American Dream Still Lives Today...

 

Maybe in other states not in California. It cost so much to live in this #### state.

 

I feel your pain new york isn't much better. At least we can go 65 in the state haha
