There is really no excuse for this type of blatant disregard pertaining to a driver who has a rare family emergency or has requested time off weeks in advance for an important life event....you can bet that the dispatchers, load planners, office staff, and managers don't miss out on these types of personal events.

You can sue them for this....
It's called the family leave act
Seems they have denied you the right to the last moments with your mother
They were supposed to route you home bound immediately after hearing that you wanted to be with her because she was dying
    .... Check into it
    Family leave act
This was a law implemented by President Bill Clinton

JV_620 and SOLID C0LD Thank this.

This is just terrible.....And nothing's gonna Hurt Them.

Who's the Owner of this Swift?? Should be ashamed of Himself....

Hit this company where it hurts, And the only way to do that is Getting their Customers involved.

    SOLID C0LD Thanks this.

    PS...
If they try to say that you agreed to drive 1500 the other way, tell them you felt pressured to do so and you were in a state of shock and therefore not in the right frame of mind to make any agreements
    " SUE THEM "
call a lawyer today ,you can find one that will work probono, you pay them when you win the case
This is a very strong case, you could rake these people over the coals on this trust me

JV_620, SOLID C0LD and stayinback Thank this.

Sorry for your loss. Many trucking companies just don't care and turnover will always be a problem for them. DO check into the family leave act. I hope you can make these insensitive bass turds pay....as for trucking companies not paying their drivers hub miles, I wanna how they get away with paying by the mile, when they're not paying you for all miles...its just not right and is probably illegal if ever challenged in court. It really burns me...

Fair enough, but what I'm wondering is where you may have found one to be a better option.
