Chances are the planners are just placating you. They couldn't give two squirts about getting you a load and are just making you feel like they are working on your behalf. Getting you a load, any load, is more work for them and their is no incentive for them to do that in the Swift business model.

I like us routes better most of the time and considering swift trucks go like 62/63mph you really dont save time on a interstate vs a shorter us or state route.
I dont and never will work for swift but most complaints I see from mega companies are whiny drivers. The only 2 things I would 3rd ver complain about is 1 sitting on a load or waiting for a load and 2 home time not being followed through withFerrissWheel Thanks this. -
I know nothing about Swift, but your post in my opinion is a bunch of BS. To say a load planner doesn't want to get someone a load is crazy.Canned Spam Thanks this.

Apparently, you don't get what I said or how the system works.
Load planners get paid by the hour. Their is no incentive to work any harder then necessary so don't expect them to. In a situation where the pickings for a a load are thin so will be the load rate. Load planners are evaluated on the average rate they load onto a truck not how many loads they put on a truck. CPM rate for the load is what counts. As such, sitting a driver out does not cost them. They may sit a driver out for several days if they can beat him out of layover. If they can hold out for a better paying load they will. If they can dump the load on another planner on their day off, they will. You need to understand the system better before you call BS. -
"But, but....
I'm not allowed to go out of route".
drvrtech77 and Stormy 69 Thank this. -
I don't work for Swift not do I know anyone who does, so I can't corroborate this, while someone like @A21CAV probably could.
One thing is for certain though, in my humble opinion. A trucking company is in business to move freight, and any "load planner" or whatever with this attitude is nothing but a hindrance to the operation of the business and needs to be thrown out with the trash.
If this sort of thing is actually going on there, then a TM needs to know about it.born&raisedintheusa Thanks this. -
Not a whole lot of US highways have 75 or even 70 mph speed limits, so I'll take the interstates too if the miles are close...diesel drinker Thanks this.
