From personal experience, OTR companies DO look at local driving experiences. Yessir.

This notion of school by otr company, mentor by otr company, just has not held water from my job searches. A good company wants a good driver, plain and simple.

Do the Pepsi gig. If your not in shape, you will be after about a month, and that is the worst part of the job. You will hump a whole lot of cases of soda a day.But you will be compensated fairly for it. Stay away from OTR if your married (unless ya want a divorce!).:biggrin_2559:

Unless the Dollar Tree guarentee is on paper I'd say "Pepsi please". You won't average over $15 an hour in a Swift. Work ur way into a rig at Pepsi and start driving towards $50,000 to $70,000 a year. And if ur in it for "the long haul" retirement between the two is not even close. Wish U the best!

IMO, there is no choice here... go with Pepsi. Be ready to work, tho.

My best friend has worked for Pepsi for a long time. He makes very good money, but works very hard to get it.

i used to work for pepsi. if its a hourly job then im sure its not delivering to the local gas stations. they got 2driving postions. the bulk routes jobs delivering pop that is already on pallets to stores like walmart & grocery stores and the route truck delivers to the gas stations& mom&pop stores... the bulk job is hourly and the route job was $100 a day plus 20cents commision per case of pop..the bulk job u have electric power mules that pull the pop off the trailer with but u dont have to stock it to the shelves in the store..thats a merchandiser job. the route u do have be in shape cause u are using a 2wheeler/handcart. that 15.80 is kinda low, at the plant i was at the bulk drivers were paid 19.00 a hour.....& there is no more pepsi bottlers group & pepsi americas.they merged this past winter and its just Pepsico everywhere..lol...but I would take the pepsi gig if i was u...the bulk drivers too home at least 900 a week & they where gauranteed 40hours....the route varys...it could be diff i worked at the 1 in munster, indiana..i have heard other plants paying notourisly low to the drivers for all the work they do
