Actually, on a per mile basis Swift trounces Watkins. According to the previous link Swift racked up over 1.6 "b" as in billion miles last year while WS booked a mere 61 million and change. Big difference there.

Yes. I do. I can call almost any terminal and who I talk to will recognize my voice. I don't have to tell them my truck number.
Of course, at W/S it's a good company. At Swift, it's sucking up. Oh. And I don't have a You-Tube channel, either. My work speaks for me. I don't need to look for attention to be noticed. -
All i need is about a half mil. of that 1.6 billion and i'll be happy!

He's 21 - who didn't spout off at the mouth at 21?
He'll learn someday that you can be proud of where you work without running the other guy down.
Just takes some time - as in - been there done that.scottied67 Thanks this. -
Lessee... from the FMCSA's CSA data in the DOT reportable crash category its 0.88 crashes per million miles for Swift vs 1.11 crashes per million miles for Watkins. Looks like Swift is a safer carrier.
Imagine that!
scottied67, Rubber_Duck and Injun Thank this. -
Thats because the Swift driver who report it will lose their .25 cpm job.
-
DOT reportables aren't up to the driver... injury/fatality and any vehicle towed from the scene make it reportable. That would be up to the DOT bear on the scene.
-
But if Watkins has 100 drivers and Swift has 6000 drivers. Swift can have more accidents but have a lower %. We know how Swift is a driver mill.
-
Doesn't matter... you take the total accidents, divide by the total miles driven to take the size of the carrier out of the numbers, then normalize the data at a million miles.
ALL carriers (including yours) are rated this way.Rubber_Duck Thanks this. -
Thank you, IP. I didn't think an explanation would be necessary for a reportable ratio per million miles, but I guess I was wrong
Hey, y'all at Prime got your number down pretty low, didn't you?
