AT may have been driving intrastate since he was 18 or 19. It's still trucking, even if it's more local.

The dang'dable thing about all this is overall, this young man has some good information. Then he digs himself into a hole like this one and, rather than admitting a mistake, keeps on digging. It's okay to admit a mistake. It doesn't make you less of a person to step back and breathe for a minute, get out of the tunnel-vision and see what's going on.

Problem is, many people have to be right, no matter what. Even when they are proven to be wrong and it's in their face like a giant red neon sign. This thread is evident of that.

I will not attack AT because of his youth. That's a factor he has no control over. He does, however, have control over his responses and choices of words in addressing those he does not agree with. Just as I do. I made a snide reference to his choice to broadcast his experience. It had nothing to do with this discussion. I allowed irritation to get the better of me. That's my fault.

We all have a learning curve. For some, it's steeper than others. As the grownups, it's up to us to show a little more patience to those who think they know things they don't and try to show them the truth.

That said. If someone attacks my team without provocation and without merit, I will stand up for my team. This thread was started on an emotional reaction to sitting in traffic because of a problem caused by a poorly maintained 4-wheeler. A Swift did his job in avoiding that problem, but another 4-wheeler became a larger part of the problem due to inattention. Again, the Swift did his job in not allowing the secondary problem to add to the primary. He kept the entire problem within a single lane of traffic. However, his company name was the most noticeable thing on scene. AT made an erroneous assumption, posted it here and later tried to pass it off as a joke. We all knew better. So, he then tried to cover his faux pas by deriding the company as a whole. That's not working either. I think he may have learned a little from this experience. At least, I hope he has.

Yes, he's young. But, in my opinion, doing better than most people his age. He has a good job, he's holding it down and he's openly sharing that experience with others. I had no right to attack him for doing that.

I'm putting my shovel down. If someone would care to lower me down a ladder, I'd like to get out of this hole. Then we can help AT out of his.

    Fair enough?

I thought it was started to poke fun at Swift because they got in a accident. I respect your loyalty to your company but when you realize that you are just a number to them. You tell them you are leaving there will be 25 more to replace you. Swift did it to themselves. If they didn't want people to bust on them then they would do more to have a better image. If it was any of the other big companies I would do the same.

The thread was started in an attempt to make it look like it was Swift's fault for being in the accident. That's where the disagreement started.

Have you ever worked for Swift?

I have never been treated like "just a number" here. If you don't have direct experience with being treated "like a number" at Swift, you have nothing to address. You wanna borrow my ladder?

    It takes a big ma...

Err, it takes a big wom...

Err, it takes a lot of character to publicly admit one's mistakes.

Now, get back to the 16-hour and 100 air-mile threads and admit the rest of yours. :biggrin_25523: :biggrin_25525:

Don't care to. Only thing I know about them is they tried to go to all auto-shift trannies. No idea how that worked for them. I had a friend who went over there about 4 years ago. She seemed pretty happy with them at first, then I lost contact with her.

Good luck at USX. I hope you find success there.
