No, you don't have to leave the truck at a terminal. You take it home with you. The only time you give it up, is when you take more than 3 days hometime. This is company wide policy. The day you get home doesn't count as a day. Neither does the day you leave.

There are many many drivers that have been at Swift for much longer than a year. I have been here 9 years myself and know lots of drivers that have been here longer than I.

Home time and keeping the truck are more than just terminal policy, your DL also has a lot to do with it. There have been lots of times that I have been home 4 or even 5 days with the truck parked in the front yard, often still hooked to a trailer. But I have always had good DLs.

Making any real money is dedicated and you all know that. . 25 times 3000 miles 600 gross. Enough with all the company cool aid. 115 percent turnover last quarter here. Other than a few of you have been here a year that's far from the normal. OP go to any truck stop and ask around and get the information first hand and then you will get the truth.

Don't take my word for any else for that matter. You will learn the hard way and then you will see what I was talking about. If you can survive on nothing more power to you. There are better ways than this for the same amount of work.

It is hard to understand a business model that accepts so much driver turn over. retraining new drivers and all the HR crap involved with hiring and firing seems crazy. Someone is really messed up. I understand a new driver has to "pay their dues" and work their way up but 25cpm is cray cray. I am going to Knight Refrigeration out of Columbus. $400 a week during the 4-6 weeks of riding with my training driver then 32 cpm for the next 90 day while I go solo. My buddy told me don't expect to make a lot of money the first year but driav safe, be on time, don't whine, and after you get 1 year good driving a lot of doors will open up.

I do have a driver friend whose neighbor drives for swift and he says he makes 1100-1200 a week with them. nd he drives the rig straight home when he is off too. We newbies just have to get over the 1 year hump
