If you have your doubts I am sure you will hate it. Truck driving always much more of a job than it seems to most people. As such Swift has trouble keeping drivers. Swift turnover reports turnover of about 100% and real turnover is much higher. The average drive has 8 months experience a Swift. With 13 month commitment you would be a senior driver before you got there. Most do not get there for good reason. It used to be a 2 year commitment but almost no one made it that long with Swift training. It is that bad.

Swift has dedicated fleets but most are run like 0TR with slightly more home time: usually weeks away from home. Swift claims the dedicated fleets are off limit to new drivers for six months. That is not always the case but usually is true. Even with years with Swift, you might have to kiss major arse to get a dedicated account and even that my not pay off. Lots of the dedicated is worse than OTR both in pay and home time.

There is not that much daycab with Swift. Almost all of it is CPM with crappy short runs. Hardly a living. Lot of the day cab drivers spend their time in the terminal awaiting a load. A few get $15 an hour but not many. All slip seat.

I don't know why people portray Swift in such a good light when they cannot keep drivers and constantly have to train replacements.

Im doing this but on the central side... And i already had my license before coming to swift.

Just know this: when you get your license and go out with a trainer(where im at been on road with mentor 5 days) it is going to be the longest 28 days of your life.

The blood and grace of Christ Jesus has gotten me through these 5 days that felt like 50, hopefully it doesnt take something drastic for you to get through your training.

Tip: if you get a mentor who is owner op try to get another one if you can....
