It is definitely a starter company. Like the jokes say, "sure wish I finished training" LOL. Seriously, the training is too rushed and even my mentor told me so. When I first got out here, I really wasn't ready to be solo so I teamed with a more experienced driver. I liked being solo but I simply wasn't ready.

The other thing is that the administration tries to run your truck. They need constant reminding that the driver is in charge of the trucks are not them. I know this because their own safety department told me so and told me to let them know if I have any issues with a DM or planner. Apparently, this is an ongoing thing. Swift will screw drivers if the driver lets them. If for example, you don't have the hours and don't want to run off of recap, simply don't. They will try to scare you into doing it but you have ways to deal with problem DM's. One thing they do wrong is send you to those classes when you screw up. It's at those classes where you're told the things the DM's don't want you to know.

Company drivers have more say than many think. Swift sets it up that way but DM's and planners play lots of games. Overall though, they will keep you rolling, especially if you are a team.

Why is it you think you can't run off recap hours??...thsts what's wrong with this new generation on drivers...you can run off recaps and still do fine..you don't have to reset every week.

I always reset once I'm on recaps. It gives me time to do laundry, shopping and take some general time to myself. Also makes it easier on planners. With my company if you are on recaps all you will get is 500 mile loads but if you reset the big ones start coming.

With Swift, they expect you to run as normal. If your time runs out, they will give you a service failure even though they begged you to do it. They will then tell you that you should not have accepted the load despite the fact that they pester the hell out of you until you do.

I agree with doing laundry etc. Maintaining good hygiene and clean appearance gives both you and your company a good impression.

I laugh. Obviously there is a high demand for drivers because it's so easy to make a billion or so dollars in your first 6 to 18 months that the reason for turnover is early retirement. I personally graduated from the third grade to head of internal medicine at John's Hopkins.

The system won't even let them dispatch you if you don't have the hours ... They're telling you to go because they know and the system knows you have the hours ... You are the one who doesn't believe you have the hours or knows how to use them.

Now that said, ultimately, it's your call. If you don't believe you can do it, then you can't.

Not only that, they system will not even let them pplan you on a load if you do not have the hours. Then the system is based on a average of 50mph. This is also why sometimes when you are going down the road and you get a message changing your PTA for a latter time. This is because the system is seeing how far you are from your drop and it is adjusting the time based on 50mph

I love how the op stated they have an F rating on the BBB when they actually have a B- rating.
