I'm not one to bash on one particular company or the other, I know companies simply reflect the personalities they hire...

But the driver of this truck here had everything messed up when they came in backwards...

They came in the 'Truck exit' side instead of the truck entrance side...as a result mass confusion followed...other trucks had to move and jockey their rigs so that no damage was done...as the driver of this swift truck got agitated that their truck and trailer would not magically swing around neatly into a fuel isle...

Turn off the xm, put down the cell phone...and pay attention to what your doing...

But i am sure that Swift is the ONLY company ever to make this mistake. Tell me, how long did you delay the driver behind you from getting on the scale??

But we all know just how well signed every truck stop is thru this great nation.

Ignore him, he blindly defends Swift every chance he gets. The rest of us understand what you were saying.

One that note, I know someone that is out of the Edwardsville, Ks terminal ... they told me that the drivers in the month of October have had around 60 accidents ... that is right at or over 2 per day. They have a few great drivers but I wish Swift trained the rest of their people a little better.

and dont confuse me, lumping me in with idiot swift drivers who you happen to catch doing something 'stooopid'. Not every stupid driver on the road works for swift.

I dont flash other drivers over or say 'thank you' for getting flashed over all based on the name on the side of the door. I'm sure if it was a Schneider driver instead of a swift driver, we'd never have seen the picture.

Here is my question for all of the people sitting around posting pictures of truck stop accidents and various other #### like that.

IF YOU SEE A DRIVER ABOUT TO SCREW SOMETHING UP, HAVE A LITTLE COMMON COURTESY AND PUT YOUR CAMERA, CELL PHONE, OR MIC DOWN AND OFFER TO HELP INSTEAD OF SITTING THERE WATCHING HIM/HER DAMAGE THEIR RIG OR SOMEONE ELSE'S RIG.

That is what is wrong with people these days, everyone wants to be a problem and not a solution. I am not super trucker by any means but if I see someone having a tough time I have enough decency to ask them if the need some assistance.

Most of these accidents could have very easily been avoided. I can't tell you how many nights I would sit in the lot at the truck stop with an empty hole next to me and help other drivers get backed up properly and safely if they were having a difficult time.

HELP EACH OTHER, NOBODY WILL THINK LESS OF YOU FOR TRYING TO BE A DECENT PERSON.

because its easier to point fingers and make fun of others rather than actually help. Especially when they can jump on the 'swift bashing' bandwagon and crack the whip a couple times themselves....what fun would it be to lend them a hand? (again, lend said hand all based on the name on the side of the door)

Those same people will be the first to complain how 'back in the day' when you see a truck on the side of the road with their 4-ways on, obviously in trouble, how the newbie drivers dont get on the radio and ask if they need help, or pull over to offer to lend assistance. But on the other side of the coin, i dont hear the veteran drivers getting on the CB or pulling over to lend their assistance either. But you always hear the negitive, or how 'bad' someone is rather than the positive.

I was headed east on i-70 just east of Indianapolis when i was about 30 min from running out of hours. I pull into the Flyin J (gag) for the night. I notice there were other spots with 4-5 spots open i could have blind sided into if i wanted to be lazy. But i chose to park between two already parked trucks. I whip it in there, get out and thump my tires, and as i came around the right side, the driver on that side poked his head out asking how swift was treating me. asked me how long i had worked for them, i answered, then says, "...well its clear you know what you're doing. you back better than other swift trucks i've seen..." Now had it been your normal everyday 'hater', i would have been stopped, asked how swift was treating me, told how lame a company it was, and how bad a driver i must be having to pull up two times to catch up to the trailer faster.

again, you can easily spot the haters on the road...it isnt that hard. and its the haters, not the newbies who have helped make it harder out there on the road than anything else.

Now suddenly your the only one with morals?

It's not always possible to help or assist, nor safe...
You can't just jump out of your truck, and leave it parked in the middle of the lane...

And if more drivers, particularly the new drivers, would turn their radios on while in truck stops...they could hear all the people trying to assist them...

But when your cb radio is off all the time...and your jabbing on the cell phone and listening to xm radio...it's hard to assist...

I'm not going to jumb out and get squashed between a truck a trailer cause the drivers mind is elsewhere...

The focus should be on poor training and driving skills...if one still needs baby sitting...they need to go back for remidial training....
