Why don't you guys just go stand on a porch somewhere and see who can urinate the farthest? It'd be no different than this fussing back and forth about which truck company has the worst drivers.
I work for Swift, I don't know everything, I still have a great deal to learn. I see poor Swift drivers and I also see poor independents, werners, schneiders, knights, etc etc etc. I also don't waste my time taking photos and posting them on this forum trying to prove I'm better than others. I happen to know that I'm a better driver than some, less than others and equal to some others.wicked, WanabeTrucker and swtatpye Thank this. -
Loosen up your panties ghost, I didn't say YOU didn't have morals, I simple said be willing to help them out. 50 jabbering truck drivers on the same channel aren't going to be much help when everyone is stepping all over each other.
I also agree that these companies need to be a whole lot more selective on who they give licenses too. Don't take **** so personally, I never single out any one person, I just recall situations.
And for the record, my comment was about the Swift guy in the parking lot, I said nothing about jumping out of your truck on the highway to help someone. -
This accident occured on I-95 just north of Daytona...a flat bed truck...that worked for the same company...rambed him from the side...
I'd say he definatly had a bad beer day...lot's and lot's of bud light...but the driver was ok...as you can see...the cab is barely scathed...be careful out there people...Attached Files:

I noticed the Swift loyals skipped over the facts. That is ok, but with that said this is a swift thread ... did you think he would post a Crete driver photo here? lol
For the kids that defend Swift blindly, I just passed I69 and 465 where the tanker exploded on the bridge ... it was not a Swift driver that caused that accident ... what a mess that was!!!
Be safe out there -
Swift gave me the experience to get on with another carrier. The driving, backing, routing and qualcomm training I received has served me well. I never made much money there (as a less than 1 year driver, it's expected).
I'm not going to knock them, but I have to say the company I'm at now seems to have a driver first mentality, not so at Swift.. -
Hey TelcoBilly,
I'm a newb thinking bout' becoming a Swiftee or possibly Werner, I'm also a recent grad, although have many years around rigs.
Question for anyone outthere - How long is the road training with Swift until you can pass - and get your own truck?
AND, Do they tend to use and abuse you for weeks, only to then force you into team driving as part of your "continued training"?
Thanks for any input on this... -
Texas-Nana Thanks this.

ADR, the road training is 6 weeks and is pretty good providing you get a good trainer. Never had any pressure to team as a co driver, only when I drove for the o/o.
If they are your only option, go with them, get your year in and then go to work for a real co. (as told to me by a Swift driver)
