You have a lot of choices since you are from Denver. I live close by and i'm going with JBS they are out of Greeley. I agree with the guy who talks numbers if you have that many employees your going to have people talk poo about you some true some not.
Just think of it this way "If you do a good job for someone they might tell one person....but if you do a bad job they will tell 10+ people" If you can find the cash to pay for your school or borrow it from someone you will save alot of cash! I'm pay 2800 compared to 4500 plus interest # 18% and instead of the company paying my loan back they are putting that cash back in my pocket.

Where are you getting $4,500 plus 18% from? Certainly not from anyone with actual experience with Swift. It's $3,900 interest free. After 13 months working with Swift, you don't owe anything, after 26 months, Swift wil have reimbursed you the total amount.

No idea where some of these outrageous claims come from.

Consider the source any time you hear bad things about anything or anyone. If you don't have personal dealings directly or indirectly, you have no reason to say anything good or bad. If you do, you are only gossiping.

    Makes a point.

When people are mad, they vent. When people are happy, they just enjoy it.

I've been wanting to avoid Swift after I do my schooling, but I know I will put in a application to work there. And if they offer me a job, then I will most likely take it. I've dealt with a few swift drivers over the past 2 years since they haul Targets reefers. 2 of them were complete douche bags, and always coming late. The rest I've dealt with were relaxed and laid back. Of course, needing us to hurry so they can get to their next stop.

I have a Toshiba from Wal-mart as well, and I have a degree in computer science, which actually does not qualify me in any way to recommend a laptop. From what I've seen, I would say, go with the HP, which you can also get at Wal-mart. My husband has one, and I like the way they are built, sort of hard all over, hard, like steel, solid in places where the Toshiba comes up a little soft and short, if you know what I mean. The HP also gives you more features for not much more money than some of the other models.

Ok well excuse me i'm not sure what swift does because i'm not going there But if you aren't going to swift its different. My outragous Claim comes from people who go to school for Stevens and others. You act like i'm way off the mark its 600 apart. I'm not sure but i will guess (not claim) that if you don't stay the full 26months that there not going to let you pay it off interest free. The CDL training is a busisness just like Trucking. so sorry for pooping in your outrageous cheerios!!:biggrin_25516:

    Negative.

I left before the note was paid off (13 months to pay it off-26 months to be fully reimbursed for it.) I still owed nearly $1,000 for the school. They accepted payments and the loan remained INTEREST FREE. Maybe you got sc***ed by some outside CDL mill and charged an exorbitant interest rate, but that's not how Swift operates. You posted your statement in a b****-about-Swift thread. Therefore, the supposition is you are referring to Swift.

And I'm not sorry for sh***ing on your Swift misinformation parade.

    Ciao.

Before you go out shopping for a laptop, you need to figure out what exactly you're going to use it for. Are you a gamer? Want to watch movies on as big a screen as possible? Or are you just going to surf the internet? Figure out what you want to do with it and take it from there.

Myself, I use a custom built Sager from Xoticpc.com to game and watch movies and a 14" Toshiba for ordinary web surfing.

Another thing to think about is how you want to connect to the internet while you're out on the road. The major truck stop chains have wi-fi plans for $20 a month or you can get a USB modem through your cell carrier, which have various plans but generally are limited to 5GB per month. I use Flying J wi-fi and my Sprint Android phone, which is hacked so I pay nothing except my regular cell bill.

Wow, stealing Internet. That is cool! As long as we're letting it all hang out and bragging about stealing, when I was in 6th grade, I went to a private school. One time they asked me to do the milk money collection, and I didn't want to do it, so I put about half of the money in my pocket. Guess what...they never asked me to do it again! Cool, huh? I like to steal from the church offering plate too, and if you take off a watch, a ring, or put your cell phone down, chances are I'm going to grab it. Do we have any other thieves here?
