A lot of these super truckers have problems with SWIFT because we cannot move out of their way with our slow governed trucks. The company itself has been great for me. Of course you see more idiots not being able to back when the company is the largest in the US. More tractors on the road = more idiots. With 18000 or so, it is hard to get everyone that have the skills needed to drive like a pro. But, they are eventually weeded out. So, FWIW, I do not see a problem with them.

I second that too, been with the company for a little while and they have been wonderful to me, specially my DM, me by being a rookie I have proved to the company that I get all my appointments on time, and the other day I was delivering a load to Danville IL, I was driving for almost 9 hours so I was getting a little tired, so here comes four super trucker tailgating me, Im like come on, I was about 10 or 15 miles from the weight station on I-70 E and they had the speed limit set for 65 I think not sure I now I was doing about 50, 55 at the time so I guessed thats why they were tailgating, anyway, I had the CB on, so I hear this guy saying the #####*ing idiots cant keep up with the speed, so I got on the cb and I apologized for holding him up and that they could pass me if they wanted to I had enough time to deliver so I wasnt on a hurry, well this guy comes back and says this f*c*k*ing C U Next Tuesday driving a truck, I just turn the cb off, I was like wow, talk about disrespect, if youre in such a hurry pass me and stop insulting everyone u think is holding you up, specially a swift truck. Sorry about the misspelling, english its not my native language.

    Roby:

Your spelling is fine. I can understand what you said better than some people who grew up with the English language. No apology needed.

And yes, I get it sometimes, too...even from some other Swift Lease-Operators. But that's because I choose to go around 63mph. My theory is, there are at least two lanes. I only want one of them. The guy in the big ol' hurry is entitled to use the other to go on around me.

Coming down I-75 last night between Chatanooga and Atlanta, I had my cruise set for my usual 63mph. It's a 4-lane road where I was. I was passed by a car and then a few minutes later, a truck with some name on it I didn't recognize and don't remember passed me, got within 6 feet of the car that had passed me, rode behind the car like that for a few minutes flashing brights at it, then hauled it over into the right lane and went around the car. All I could think was Thanks a lot! There's someone else who will hate truckers. Yes, I know that section of road has signs up restricting trucks to the right two lanes. But, seriously, was that really necessary? And yes, I've seen Swifties do it, too. But I'm inclined to holler at them about it on the radio. Usually, they back off the car a little. Sometimes they mouth off at me. That's about the time I tell them say anything they want to. I'll be on the phone with Phoenix in about 30 seconds. That's when most of the mouthy ones shut up and back off. If they continue giving me a bunch of mouth, then I do pick up the phone. I've only had to actually call once in the past six months.

Here's where some people will tell me to mind my own business. And my response to them is as long as the tractor or the wagon bears the same name as the wagons I'm hauling, it is my business. The image they are showing is a reflection on me.

hehhe so far I havent done that, sometimes I wish I could thou, and also the things other drivers do is going over the speed limit, specially in construction zone, I mean if the speed says 45 I'll do 45 I dont care what 4wheelers or anybody else do, so when I see them do that I think to my self 'roby u cant afford a speeding ticket and the points on your DAC report lol', so when they pass me I tried to look at them smile and give them the peace sign :biggrin_25514:, most of them will sign back some will just ignore that I did that lol, everytime I plan my trips I ussually give my self 2 1/2 or 3 hours window plus the delivery windows time that the planners give me so that way I avoid the temptation of breaking the law just to save a few minutes.

i do live in widefield and what i wind up doing is getting a small loacal load to the springs. when i emty out i take the trailer to the tomhawk truck stop if you fill out the form to check the trailer in with them they let you drop it there for a few days. that may change since the pinon truck stop closed because the last time i went to the tomhawk it was packed before 8 at night

I have seen both the good and the bad of Swift. I know many people who have been and are successful driving for Swift. Now as per Injuns case, I am not gonna come down hard on her and tell her to mind her own business. As a representative of Swift Transportation LLC, she has obligation to report any unsafe acts that a fellow company or lease driver does. Swift is striving hard to improve their reputation. Going to E-logs is evidence of this.

    Ave,

I know a couple of people driving Watkins and will back up everything you say Ave. However, one company may be the right fit for you yet may not be for him.

Plenty of places to park a truck in the Springs. I park in front of the Ace Hardware DC on Astrozon Blvd just east of Powers. Another good spot is Waynoka Rd, near the Golden Corral at Powers and Palmer Park.
