To all you cheerleaders, I offer up this morsel: You're claims remind me of when SwiftQuitters bought out M.S. Carriers and 600 drivers quit the day it happened.
I'll believe you and think those weren't really 600 different guys. They were 3 guys who each quit 200 times.
When you tell your story, you need to include ALL the details.

I guess if Tip can call those who wish to post positive things on here "cheerleaders" we can dub people like him "hatemongers" I have some time coming up in a motel room this weekend between meetings I may just invest some of that time to count the posters in the Swift threads. Since most won't go back years to research, I may take like a six month sample and post the results. Might be interesting to know just how many individual hatemongers there are on here and how many individual cheerleaders there are. I will also count the number of posts per hatemonger and the number of posts per cheerleader.

my father and some other truckers are saying there going out of buisness.

Wishful thinking for some. Swift remains strong in the market place according to reports. People would like them to go away. Although, then who would people kick around and ridicule?
-
I remember when all that happened. They were just finalizing the buyout when I went out to orientation in Columbus. It was the big buzz at the terminal. But I thought the number was higher, oh well. And I also met alot of M.S. drivers that stayed on with Swift, and quite a few that quit came back. But how many of those "quitters" post on here about how bad Swifty is? And if they did, they dont have a leg to stand on cause they quit before even working for the company. They really have nothing to go on unless you count their stories..."my uncles brothers' sisters cousin dads fifth removed great grandfathers uncle moms next door neighbor worked for them and didnt like it, so they must suck.
I'm not being anyones cheerleader, I was simply refering to MY experience with the company. As far as including ALL the details about when I work for a company, I DO. That is the experience that I had. Sorry that it pains you so much that someone actually had a positive experience working for a company that you loathe so badly.
Good hunting there paw...
I talked to a recruiter at the Richmond, VA terminal about a month ago and she said they were reducing the fleet by about 2,000 trucks, but they arent gonna shut down.Last edited by a moderator: Aug 12, 2009

Swift is the largest carrier in America. They could lose 1/4 of their fleet and still be on top. I don't see Swift going anywhere for a very long time. Large companies have the money and power to buy smaller companies. As long as Swift remains on top they will continue their prowl to dominate as the MEGA carrier.

For those who would question your stats based on the start date of 2007, that is the year Jerry Moyes (the original owner) bought out the stock and took it private once again.Last edited by a moderator: May 29, 2008

There is one item of absolutely essential relevance in that list, though. What's their annual outlay? It's all well and good to be making sales in excess of 1.5B, but if your expenses are - say - 5 Billion, you are in deeep doo doo an absolutely in danger of getting a sunburn on your navel.

As a casual observer and someone doing research on trucking companies for use in a couple of years, it seems to me that Swift has no more problems than any other company. They are just the "joke du jour", similar to the "Pollock Jokes" of the 70's. All companies have problems and all companies have good things and bad things about them.
Darkschneidr Thanks this.
