Dick Simon's was like a Saturday night massacre over and over and over for years and years. They'd have a help-wanted in the Salt Lake Tribune on Sunday mornings wanting everybody from the janitor to the terminal manager on a regular basis. Their ad begging for drivers never disappeared from that paper in the 10 years I watched it. But then Simon went bankrupt. Could that have been because of their turnover, caused by ill-treatment of drivers? Maybe. Could their demise be blamed on the stash of cash they had to pay to California after the nutcase Simon driver crashed his truck into the California State Capitol building in January 2001, after Simon's higher-ups were warned of the nut case's nuttiness? Maybe. Maybe both? Now if I could only reach the hard-headed ones bent on going to those outfits. You don't want to be replacing quitters, folks. Or nut cases.

I don’t think Swift is as bad as their reputation anymore. Management is well aware of what people say on forums like this and has made lots of changes over the last few years and especially the last year or so.
I’ve been with them just over three years and some of the things I read on here have no basis in reality at all. Especially “Swift doesn’t care about safety” that’s just so not true.
To each their own though. -
