SWIFT's Terminals

Honestly man, I would say your best to go to one near home. So you get a mentor more near your home, and less travel while you wait for one. I had a mentor from my terminal and he ran dedicated and reset at home one the weekends. So I was home almost everyweekend and a few nights a week during training, It was a nice way to slowly ease into the being gone life style.

 

OK, so my recruiter is telling me Millington since I live in TN. But, the Greer, SC terminal is so much closer to my home. 157 miles to Greer versus 500 miles to the Memphis terminal. I can understand going to Millington for my CDL training, but not for my home terminal. Is your home terminal the closest to your home, the one in your state or can you choose?

 

Do you get to choose... hahahahaha Your home terminal only determines where your D.M. is located. It doesn't affect your hometime. You can request to change your home terminal if you wish but it isn't guaranteed.

 

yeppers. like that couple who run team, i talked about inside a minute ago....they first started in Inver Grove. They now are based out of Phoenix. I'm waiting for them to move to Ocala. =)

 

If i do my training in Ocala,Fl. what are the chances i can stay in Fl and get a wal-mart dedicated run?

 

Where is the closet swift terminal to Ohio??

 

Columbus, OH.....West side of town off the I-70/I-270/US40

 

Columbus was always one of my fave terminals. Good people there. If I come back and drive for Swift I will do my level best to make that my home terminal.

 

So because swift has a terminal in Columbus would it make sense that I apply at Swift so I can be closer to home?? Or are there terminals of other companies in Ohio as well??
