Also is your $900. with with Benefits. But the $1200. is without . I would rather have the $900. If the Benefits are any good. And 95% of the farmer's will want to pay you. Then let you take care of the taxes also.

Sounds like hauling coils is already the welfare wagon

Lancaster has a transload yard in East Stasburg where you can get or ship onto the national network via railroad. Something to consider.

Anyway 900 net with coil? That's not bad. It's twice what I earned 25 years ago doing the same thing.

You will probably be facing weather related issues and time issues with grain and other products going straight to the elevator (Coop) and your farmer boss will be worrying about all that. You already got the touch from coil work so running a hopper should not be that hard.

Be careful with the loads because a portion of it is involved in ethanol and so on, you might need additional cards to access the plant etc.

In my experience hopper work is unpredictable. You may be in and out today but not tomorrow. It's easy work with grain how hard is rolling a tarp and 2 doors. I really hate to say much as I have never run your area

I would think that the change in the view hauling ag products is worth something.

It fits me for sure, while money isn't everything it does take a certain amount of it to live, I hate to paint that rosey picture only to be cussed later lol

No as of late coils have been 900 gross without benefits, i am covered were my wife works. And it would be 1200 without benefits as well with the hopper gig. Currently where i am the only way i am even making it is because they pay 60 per day for per diem.

Hoping with getting back to a smaller outfit with me being one of the only "regional" guys on the farm. With the possibility of being home every other night if i did want to stay closer to home and get more home time or be gone mon thru friday and run father benefits me.

Maybe the possibility exists to do some farm work when the hopper is slow?

He said they always have something to haul, and something to keep me busy. Whether its running it out of the field. Hauling milk, etc...

Owner said either way he could get me ATLEAST 1200 a week.
