I did six months solid of nights, for a large construction project here, that ran 24/7.

I didn't actually mind it! I seemed to sleep better, actually! I have no kids though, so my time is flexible.

The worst part? The neighbors looking at me funny when I pound back a six-pack at 07:00 AM. They were probably thinking, "This guy has a problem."

I did a stretch of 2 weeks working 7pm to 7am. I never did get used to it and took a week to get over it.

Worked the first night and wasn't too bad. Got home that morning and couldn't sleep well because I wasn't used to sleeping during the day. The second night was murder, I was just worn out from not having any good sleep for 2 days. Didn't have any trouble sleeping the second day. The third night was ok as I had a good sleep. Then again I couldn't get a good sleep on the third day. This cycle continued for two weeks without ever getting accustomed.

I love the night atmosphere but my body just can't take it. I'd have to get awfully hungry before I pulled a 2 week stint again. I was mad at the world for those two weeks.

I get particular about keeping my windshield, windows, and mirrors spotless as possible when I drive at night. It helps a lot if the glare of headlights aren't lighting up bug guts, mud, or dust on the windshield.

Recently I tried some of those night driving glasses, with the yellow tint. They do seem to cut down on glare, but take some getting used to.

totally true, stuff that isn't a big deal during the day is unseeable at night.

I keep a little rubbermaid box with windshield cleaning fluid in it and a expandable paint pole with a squeegee in the side compartment. So whenever I stop, take 30, waiting for trailer, whatever, i can clean the window easily without having to pull into a station.

    Lepton1 Thanks this.

I wish I could just drive late 2nd shift.

For some reason, if I've had a long dull day, I've notice I will wake right back up as the sun sets. I also feel comfortable driving until 5 to 6am.

Hell yeah. Redline is the top of the top when it comes to liquid awake. Pound down one of those suckers and 10 minutes later your face is tingling and your read to chop down a tree with your pocketknife. Love them things to get me through the last 3 hours of an all night run.

I love coffee, but I find that if I drink it I need to be near a toilet or I will #### my pants. Not something you wanna be dealing with at 0300 when there's no parking lol

My neighbors always look at me weird when I pound a 6-pack at 0700. But a few minutes later I take a piss in the neighbor's def tank, release my brakes and roll on to stop 90.
