Move to Florida, Tennessee, Texas, Nevada. I've lived in all 4 states. I still prefer Florida or Nevada.
You can do well in either of those 4 states.

I was looking at Tennesse, but all the pieces of land i see for sale with decent acreage were conservation restricted, doesnt seam like as good a deal when you figure youve got someone telling you what you can or cant do on your own property, might as well be in the suburbs with an HOA.

One driver on this forum moved to Palm Coast. The reviews on Palm Coast aren't overall good though. That's a matter for each individual though.
    City of Palm Coast, Florida
Can google for home prices and rent.
Zillow is a good website to research.

Generally speaking (in trucking)...no, they do not.

Especially in southern Florida, and/or in the more urban areas.

Here in southern Georgia--I grew up with Florida at my doorstep.

Florida issues: hurricanes , sinkholes, gators, vermin, bad traffic (especially in the southern half), tourist drivers (who can't drive), rowdy/obnoxious/immature spring breakers, very high humidity levels--& many CDL carriers prefer not to hire out of Florida. Getting homeowners insurance in Florida is much more problematic (due to the hurricanes).

My point? Yes....Florida can be nice at times. But be advised--it's not perfect, either.

There's some nice places to live between St. Augustine and Orlando.
    Check Zillow website.

This area, I finally contacted an old Navy friend and all he could do is snicker.
Maybe he has dementia or hiding something.
    Home prices are reasonable though.
Told him I want 2 or 3 car garage and 3 bedrooms. He just snickered, so I hung up the phone.

If you are open to the idea of relocation--here are some HOT markets to consider for tanker duty:

    • Chattanooga, TN area
    • Decatur, AL
    • Birmingham, AL
    • Petal, MS
    • pretty much anywhere in Texas. HOT, HOT, HOT!!!
    • Louisiana--but there....you encounter many of the above issues listed for Florida. :icon_frown:
