Something that I noticed is missing in this thread (thus far, anyway)....

Others of course can "jump in"....and correct me if I'm wrong.....but....

You'll also find that in the tanker world, generally speaking, you're treated markedly better--BY EVERYBODY!!!!

Your customers. Your co-workers. Your superiors/higher-ups. Even dispatch :eek::eek::eek::eek:!!! Every-body.

Your customers are actually GLAD TO SEE YOU.

No more of that stray dog/cat stuff.:mad:

    I think it's called, "RESPECT".....???

100% correct. I was hazmat/tanker driver 48 states and Canada and never had a bad experience with a shipper or receiver.

Haz-Mat Environmental Group By Buffalo NY haul haz-mat waste all over. Fussy training but a basic good company. Drive new KW, they own the dealer.

Honestly, you couldn't pay me enough to bump docks.
I never wait to unload, rarely wait to load, if I don't want to run a load, I can ask for alternatives.
They don't drive my wheels off me, always support my decisions, and on the one occasion I told the customer to crap in their hat when they demanded I do something unsafe, the boss backed my call. Obviously, I called him direct, advised him if the scenario, texted photos, and he agreed with my assessment.
He covers my 6,I cover his.
He needs an extra load that puts me a little over my 12? Sure chief... I'll handle it. Can you cut me a little early on Friday? Much appreciated!
