Hmm, try and get a comment in sideways from Chinatown, I knew he'd have a few to call. Far as a "single reason", there are many. There was a gal here several years ago, her name was PattyJ, and she wanted to pull a tanker more than anything. Well, she got her chance pulling an asphalt tanker, and while loading, she said the fumes were so bad, she almost fainted. I've hauled some nasty stuff in tankers, one more repulsive than the last, and stuff like anhydrous ammonia, get a DROP on your skin, it's over. Inhalation hazards while loading and unloading, require special equipment, and knowledge. Rarely do 2 things in tankers cooperate and a wrong delivery can have disastrous results sending everyone home early.

Eagle transport in Chattanooga tn.
Don't know about other terminals, but mine rocks.
If I need a day for a doctor's appointment, as long as I let them know in advance, they'll usually let me swap my days off for it.
We have a couple part time guys that work a couple days a week that fill in like that.
I got the thanks for your hard work message across the Qualcomm early the other day.... called in, asked for a short load, which they happily offered... put me a little over my 12, but 2 days later got done an hour earlier to balance the time out.
They call me if they need to switch my loads around to meet customer demand, and I'm happy to do it.
I have a couple favorite stores... one for the best biscuits, the other for the coffee... when those come up, I usually get them for that reason.
They keep me rolling, I keep the deliveries flowing.
Sometimes I need short runs for my health... they always oblige.
Sometimes they need a run done in a pinch...I get the call because they know I'll run it happily.
I always make a point to visit with dispatch at the end of the day. I thank them for their efforts, ask how we're looking for the next day, and see how I can help the team.
They usually give me my first load info, so I'm ready to roll when I arrive in the morning.
My night driver is great too.
He sets me up to succeed, and I return the favor. He's new, and doesn't have much gear, so I share mine while he acquires what he needs.
He respects my stuff, and I don't have to worry about it.SoulScream84 and Pamela1990 Thank this. -

Given that it's impossible to meet or beat the minimum with load pay, it ends up being more like a salary type scenario.
Best day I ever pulled was $290, all in.
I made more from guarantee than I did that day. Most days land around 230-240.
