Yeah man, I hear ya. We all have our preferences. The one I play the most is a cheap Yamaha acoustic with 5 strings. Lol. I tell myself Keith Richards only has 5 strings so it's good enough for me. Ha. Plus I just don't feel like replacing it. Lol

I got a banged up duck taped acoustic laying around somewhere but even on cut away acoustics I can't really use much of the neck bellow the octive. Electric is really the only way to go for what I play. And if i can ever get this Damon irig2 to work I'll be able to use my trucks radio as my amp haha

Don't kid yourself, we all play the same stuff. It ain't that complicated. 3 chords, 5 strings is all you need. You can present it anyway you like, but it's still 3 chords.

I use the high notes and 6 strings. Plus acoustics sound like ### with heavy distort

Yeah, I hear ya. My point is it's the same thing on an acoustic. You just present it different with the pedals and distorts. Nothing wrong with that. I play around with different pedals and bars to. But it all starts on an acoustic and grows from there.

You might find you like picking the acoustic on the road- getting your chord progression dialed in and then on home time taking it to the electric and adding your effects. Sometimes less is more.

But then again, sometimes more is more to. Lol. I like it all.

That's why I like electric tho. Can get a nice clean sound or I can ramp up the gain add a little distortion add some light flange and just go nuts

Makes sense. I was the same way at your age-we all were. As you get older you may change. I did, but that doesn't mean much. I got away from all the pedals and effects and just really got into understanding chord progressions and the whole instrument. Funny thing is it got so much easier to understand. It's just math.

Like I said, that doesn't mean much though, your preferences may never change- and that's cool to. Look at the dude from U2 (the edge, I think?). He doesn't even know how to play the guitar. Has no idea. He strums a basic chord and does everything with effects. His style isn't my cup of tea, but it doesn't mean it isn't awesome.

That's the beauty of it. It's endless- and it's all pretty incredible in its own way. Play whatever makes you happy.
