Once you set/tune the antenna for a CB radio, will you have to retune the SWR if you change to another radio ?

    Thank you

    Nope.

It is good to check it from time to time.

I agree with that. I have 2 different radios. One has a built in digital swr reading when you key the mic. The other has a needle type. Both radios are Stryker, but I was wondering if they both should have the same swr reading ?

They should have same reading but the built in meters aren't very accurate. I wouldn't be surprised if they showed different readings.

The one on my 447HPC2 is the same reading as my stand alone swr meter.

Set it once, and done....Only time you would need to possibly retune the SWR on a antenna is if you move the antenna to a different vehicle or different mounting location...changing radios makes no difference.

I'd still check VSWR anyway, just for the H of it

    skellr Thanks this.

You tune the antenna to the vehicle not the cb...no additional tuning should be required after that unless the antenna is moved within that vehicle or you change any components past the radio i.e. coax, whip, etc..

Yeah, it's always good to keep checking it. Lots of exposure to the elements and vibrations, something is going to get fouled up sometime.

    Timin770 and HD_Renegade Thank this.
