    An ohm meter can be a really good friend as mark pointed out to me in our hr long ph call..Man oh man he can get on a roll lol..Last call a week ago was like almost 2 hrs..lol...If i could retain all of what he tells me..Need to have my recorder with me at all times now..lol

    Yeah it has but when you guys are talking about no ground antennas for fiberglass installs, the coax length is important because it is part of the antenna.

    On a camper (I assume a motor home is meant)? They’re fiberglass almost always nowadays.

    Motorhomes might have a fiberglass skin, but the skeleton is usually metal, along with copper wiring and other metal interior things scattered around. It's probably a hit-or-miss, try-it-and-see situation. I've read of some installing a metal plate on top.

    Rabbi, it isn't as worthless as a magnet mount bouncing around on the road while your driving because there is nothing for the magnet to grip to.

    To the op, what make and model of rv are we talking about?

    I just realized you're correct and I overlooked the lack of Steel for the magnet to stick to.
