We provide a service. Nothing more, nothing less. If I want my product tarped when transported on an open deck, its because I want my product tarped. And I really don't want any guff from a driver who is too lazy to provide the service I require. It's that simple. The fact is, our service many times is provided at a mark-up to what others might provide it for... and there are plenty of other carriers and independents out there who would be happy to eat our lunch for us - and tarp it for free whether its stored on the ground or not.

Which I do provide. Just doesn't make sense. I've had shippers and receivers ask why it was tarped.

ive asked questions about tarping things that are in dirt/outside when i pick it up and is placed outside/in dirt when i del it ive been asked the sad question "y did you tarp this" the answer ive got from shippers is we want it protected from the salt placed on the road during the winter and in the summer that load isnt tarped other loads have been tarped bc of distance the load i have now is tarped only bc its going from GA to OR the load to NY wasnt tarped
if it has to be tarped even if im not in the mood i get it done....on the bright side we get paid to do it some dont -
I think some companies to it by default. However, you are right we do get paid unlike some other companies.
