Unloaded at the Sysco in Walnut Grove, CA they were one of the quickest places I have ever been. NOW on the other hand the last two weeks I have been unfortunate enough to have loads going to their Fremont, CA location. What a joy it is dealing with those #######. They put me in a dry dock with frozen product to start off with, the lumpers did their job in a short time. Sadly the lumpers are the highlight of this trip. Sysco however did not bother to "check in" the product for nearly 7 hours. Yup thats seven hours of frozen "egg product" sitting on a dock floor rotting. My pulp thermometer said 74 degrees was the air temp. When the receiver finally checked it in he pulped a few boxes and #####ed because some of it was up to 40 degrees already. DUH. I told them that when it was unloaded that I should have been on the cold dock. They did take it but remind me to never eat somewhere that was supplied by them.
Fast forward a week and I am delivering fresh turkeys to them sad SOB's again lumpers quickly unloaded and re stacked the pallets. The receiver was no where to be found for almost three hours. When the supervisor was asked I was "politely" informed that he was the only one qualified to check in fresh foods. Hmm so there is only one man in your whole wharehouse that can count 48 boxes on each pallet and then multiply that by the ten pallets the product is now on? Atleast the cold dock was at a nice 45 degrees and the food didn't have to sit their rotting. -
I just got out of San Antonio after 7 1/2 hours...WTF?????

I delivered to a Sysco somewhere near westborough mass a long time ago, had half a truck all pallets full of plastic knives spoons forks. I don't remember how long it was but it was the better part of the day and when I asked what was going on they also told me they had to count and check every package of spoons and forks. You gotta be friggin kidding me?!!?
I got a load for there 1 time after that and refused it.
I keep a book of everywhere I go and on top of writing directions I also note if its good bad or otherwise, so I can refuse to go there again.jbatmick Thanks this. -
new thing with Sysco, when your detention is about to start (mine is after 2hrs) go into the recvr and ask if they need to be notified about detention. Another drvr told me about it, I asked them and I was out of there in 10 min. Happened twice at two different Sysco's, maybe they are tired of paying it?

Ah yes Sysco, I remember going to Sysco in Phoenix about 15 or 20 years ago & they said to break down all their crap but the bills had 2 pages. The 2nd page just had 1 short pallet on it that had just the right amount on it so the receiver signed it. I grabbed the pallet jack & pulled all my pallets off went to the window said I'm done. The lady commenced to point at the computer print out & say you have to break it down like is says here. I said no I don't have to do your work for you my bills are signed & I left quickly. Felt good to finally win for once!!!

That's why I don't pull a reefer. Sysco are as bad as it gets. With a tanker behind me, I don't have to worry about all that BS anymore.
Big Duker and MO family man Thank this.
