Hello guys in my area of Mississippi we have two distribution centers near here. One is in Tuscaloosa on the other side of the line and Jackson. My question is could i be hired without having to move closer to either city. I know sysco is home daily and both dcs are 80 plus miles away both ways

Would you really want to do the most physical work out there bookended by over an hour commute each way? I couldn't handle that. It would be different with a less intense job.

You will be hating life. Your ten starts the minute you clock out, youll lose 3 hours on the commute alone, then another hour or two of hygine and eating when you get home. That leaves you with 5 or 6 hours of sleep max
MACK E-6, Surfer Joe and Bob Dobalina Thank this. -
Thats what i was thinking. I may just move closer to Jackson after getting some experience. First I'll get on with a local company and if i still want to do food service ill move closer

Why not just ask for layover trips? Sysco by me runs 2 night out, 1 home, 2 nights out, normally off weekends.

Oh ill have to call and ask. Ive always been told they were home daily

There may be ill just have to check

There is a place over by Spaceway that used to allow Sysco and Merchants drivers to park there. I assume the 5 or 6 trucks that stored there all ran out of Jackson. I'm not sure if they still do, I run OTR and used to drop my megas trailer there when I'd go on hometime.
