Here's reality: if you expect drivers to live in their trucks for weeks on end, don't give them a 36" sleeper without a very good reason.
System is treating me very well. The ridiculous way this tractor was set up was, well, ridiculous. I literally had to climb out around the ends of the bunks to get onto my catwalk. It was a very serious safety hazard. If that sounds to you like I'm being a prima dona or something, perhaps you don't understand the potential liability of a spinal cord injury.
Yes. I made a post or 5 when I was pissed off about trying to cook dinner in this coffin sleeper, and spilled my noodles. I later realized that for what it was, and posted accordingly.
I'm terribly sorry if I've offended your tender sensibilities. If you want posts that won't offend you, don't read mine. I won't sugar coat them for you.

Oh you sure didn’t offend me. Just pointing out the obvious.......myself, a 36-48” bunk is all that’s needed. When I’m done for the day I go to bed. 8 hours later I get up and get back at it. And it’d better have a hood, a yellow motor and an 18 speed. Manual. No auto junk. But that’s just me.

Day 2-1/2, sort of, of the turnaround on this load. Long story short, the delivery date somehow got screwed up by 2 days, way above my pay grade, so the load was refused.
Anyhow, I did a 34 on Friday, just north of the FL-GA line, then ran about 630 yesterday, ran about 610, I think it was, today. I plan to run 600+ for the next 2 days, that should put me back to Moses Lake early Wednesday.
Ironically, this turns out to be the easiest, best paying load I've ever run. It was preloaded, all I did was throw on some chains and binders, no tarps, and listened to music and audiobooks for 2 weeks, occasionally turning that big round thing sticking out of the dash.hallellujah Thanks this. -
My wife has managed a couple of small businesses. We've agreed that if I'm still moderately sane after 2 years of driving, no months long stretches of time off, then I can start considering it. -
Things are going very well. I'm getting beaucoup miles, the shop is on the ball, and things are mostly smooth with dispatch.
Still not thrilled with this ittsy bittsy teeny weeny sleeper, but then again, I hate rolling tarps too, but I do it without complaint, since it's my job.
So, wth. Maybe I'll learn to deal with the small sleeper. It's a pretty excellent company.Gearjammin' Penguin and Vic Firth Thank this. -
I'm getting crazy miles.
