Never said anything about orientation taking two weeks. I said that I was told that my training would take two weeks in orientation.
I'm well aware that there is a plethora of loads coming out of Colorado, as is my trainer. For whatever reason, we are not getting them.
Not sure what you think I would be hiding. I've got a solid work history, experience and references.
Some people were assigned local trainers and got trucks days later. Others , even one with flatbed experience, were assigned regional or OTR trainers and have been kept in the dark about when they will be upgraded to solo drivers.
I've heard lots of great things about this company. That's why I'm here. However, the lack of trucks and freight is disconcerting.

You say lack of trucks but then say others got trucks just not you that's why I said it's an issue that either you're trainer isn't telling you about how good your doing or an issue you're not talking about.. If you have an issue its best you contact the one person that can help you up in Cheney. Since I'm sure you're not in CO anymore and have a load give him a c
The freight is there it's your trainers DM that's not working that's the only issue I can think of unless he is always late or conplains but you have to remember if your on the TX fleet and go do a drop in CO your TX DM has to contact the planners In CO to get you a pre plan so it's always a delay but it's the job of the DM to make it happen and get pre planned. -
Well I just spoke with management (last Thursday) as I had some concerns about whether they were experiencing a typical slow down because of the season or economic slow down as other companies seem to be. Since I got my pre hire letter and wanted to see where they were as far as still looking for drivers and still having freight to run.. I was told that they are not slowing down for any reason in fact they are seeing a 3-5% growth per month and have been every month for the last 3 years...
Just thought I would pass along the information.. Hopefully you will get some info and be able to get things resolved or back on track for you @wanttotruck.Sneakerfix and Rugerfan Thank this. -
Granted I haven't worked there for a minute but there were always empty trucks in the yard. Some were brand new and others just needing a driver
Sneakerfix and Big Papaxx Thank this. -
And still is. When I was last in Cheney they had empty t660s and some of the new Petes. And I know AZ had two empties one older Pete and A T660Rugerfan Thanks this.

I know of a couple drivers who have been put in T800s (temporarily) due to not enough trucks to go around.
-
Is that company wide or just at HQ??
-
Was told it's a temporary thing was also told that they are having issues getting some of the new Petes registered in Washington state. But not sure if that is true or notLast edited: Nov 16, 2015
Big Papaxx Thanks this. -
If you are being told that system is experiencing 3-5% monthly growth for 3 years, you are being lied to. If they started with 1000 trucks and grew at 3% per month for 3 years, they would currently have 2900 trucks. Growing 3% annually over the last three years would be difficult enough. If you ask anyone in the know, the freight environment is very challenging right now. THis is true whether you are System, TMC, Landstar, Heartland, or JB Hunt. Things have changed dramatically since the first quarter of this year, and a deeper slow down is likely. THis is not just a seasonal slow down.

Thank you. that could very well be.. It was pretty generalized so I do not know if he was talking about revenue equipment or booked loads. so my apologies. I know he did say that they are consistently ordering new trucks and hiring new drivers and do not see an end in sight. They have not had this kind of growth since 1972 and it has been in flatbed and as a company as a whole.. So yes you may in fact be correct and it could be a lie. As I said it is pretty generalized. thanks for the information.
