I think we got 10-12 in Billings. Which is a fair bit for us over a couple days. The rain before hand is what really made it fun.

I think we all would have enjoyed that. Should be nice and wet the next few days.

I had narrowed it down to 3; System, W&S, and Decker. I have heard a lot of good about System, so they were my choice. I'll have to go out with a trainer again for a bit, but that doesn't bother me. There is always something to learn! I'll be heading there the 17th and am really looking forward to it for sure!

Hello all. I have read everything in this thread trying to see if Systems might work for me. If you all do not mind a couple of questions...

Working for the company, how important is it to be able to have a TWIC's card and have a passport?

Residing in Vancouver, WA. How often do you think one might be able to swing by one's place for even a few hour, considering the different fleets? Reason. Sense there is a no pet policy and I have 2 cats. Though people have told me they can stop by and check up on them. I can't trust anyone. So, I need to try and make a occasional stop for a quick couple of hours to do so about after every 2 or 3 nights.

I am a experienced driver with over 20 years under my belt. What could I possibly expect to be paid for my experience? Taking into consideration that over half of it has been flatbed.

With my years of experience, will I have to be on a truck with someone before going solo?

Are all orientations conducted in Spokane? Or do they have orientation at other terminals to?

    Any suggestions?

I don't have my TWIC or passport and haven't been bothered to get it but I would imagine that since you need to be through the house a lot that you might want your passport since you would need to be on the northwest regional to be home halfway close to that... I would also assume that having to go out with someone would probably depend on how long you have been out of the truck for?

Rugerfan. Sense May of last year, my truck driving employment has been shaky. Meaning, driving about 50% between then and now. Prior to that, I've been driving flatbed for years and being home either every night or out as much as three nights... As far as TWIC's and passport. I do have a passport. But, due to last year. I am very leery of crossing any international borders, at this particular time. The TWIC's card... I am fighting our government over it.

TTB, honestly IMO i don't think this is going to be a good fit for you. I just don't see that kind of hometime being done reliably. You may get by the house 3 times in 3 days or 1 time every weekend and that would be if you ran NW regional which requires Canada if i'm not mistaken.

Call up the recruiter and get some real information though. I'm just shooting in the dark here.
