I've driven a whole 600 miles the past 2 days. I am sick as a dog so I asked Brett to give me one that I can recoup a bit on. So I got a weekend run from frenchcamp over to salt lake. I'm in imlay nv right now getting ready to do the last 350 miles.

We do pretty good together after spending our first 23 years apart most of the time, due to the military lifestyle...Since my retirement from the Army about 18 months ago, this is the longest we have ever been together. There have been a few breaks during hunting season when I head to the mountains. But, I know even the best of friends can get grumpy with each other if cramped up for too long a period.
Airborne and moneyburner Thank this. -
Dang
, hope you feel better soon. I got a bad flu about 2 months ago and I found keeping my cab at 90* and staying active helped me. It's no fun at all though.
Airborne Thanks this. -
Can i move this thread into the Bad Company Section??

Got screwed on a repower going into LA with 8 ft drops that needs to be entirely untarped and retarped to go 5 miles down the street for the 2nd drop that gives me 500 miles for 3 days because the driver couldn't trip plan, but more importantly...

Once it gets down to 1000 that's my quitting point if things don't make a rapid turnaround. What P***es me off more than anything though is i get one good run from her once a week and then get screwed for the rest of the week so my #'s are slowly dropping instead of just dropping into the floor making it more difficult to get the evidence to get rid of her.
How are we doing since we switched fleets....

Edit:
And now she accepted a load from the load planner that would involve me sitting all weekend in BFE Texas unless things go absolutely perfectly the next 3 days...
Tomorrow we will have a discussion on basic critical thinking skills and trip planning...Last edited: Mar 18, 2014

Trying to imbue someone with critical thinking skills that does not have them naturally is like trying to throw a dart through a half inch thick titanium wall so i have since given up on that venture.
On a more interesting note a Family Emergency came up so i told dispatch to get me home ASAP. It will be interesting to see how they handle this situation. -
Good luck getting home quick. I know Brett told me at one time if its something real bad that I could catch a flight home. I hope everything is well with you family.
I am in Spokane right now picking up an oversize piece going to carlin nv so after I pick it up ill head home for a 34.ramblingman Thanks this. -
Yeah, things kinda took a turn for the worse and quick in the last 24 hrs so i told dispatch today i wouldn't be able to finish this run like previously intended. Dispatch was slightly frustrated but understood and agreed to do their best.
Shortly after that the boss of all the dispatchers and my personal favorite person to work with in this company called me up and asked what was going on. I don't like to mix business with personal matters so up until then i had been extremely vague with everyone. I don't want dispatch thinking i actually have a heart, they'd surely find some way to exploit such kindness.
He was rather persistant though so i gave him the DL and within 30 minutes i had a load swap scheduled to take me back home ASAP. He told me if i had to we could find a place to secure the truck/trailer in Laredo and i could get on the next flight going home. Thing's seemed to be getting better based on the constant updates i was getting from back home so i declined. He told me if necessary we could do the same thing from Phoenix as we have a yard there. Have i mentioned he's my favorite person to work with in this company
. He dispatched me for about a month when my dispatcher was sick and we really do well together.
Fortunately all went well and I'm now an uncle to a wonderful baby boy. Headed home now to meet him and spend some time with my Sister during this beautiful point in life. The company was professional and courteous throughout the whole ordeal.
I'll let em stay in the favorite company section for now
. I'm still talking with the boss about those #'s after i get finished with baby time! lol
Milktanker and SmokeytheBerge Thank this.
