I can't tell you much about Texas regional as until you mentioned it i didn't even know it existed. We recently opened up a terminal in Dallas,TX. I haven't even got a chance to stop by and see it yet. If it's anything like any of our other regional fleets your likely going to be home on weekends at best and sometimes that's just long enough for a 34 hour reset. Also don't be suprised if you end up on the east coast with ''Texas Regional''. Our regional fleets based on my talk with regional drivers aren't very regional. For example i was talking with a driver at our yard in Gary,Indiana who was on the Arizona regional fleet.

    Also if this is true

    You probably oughta stay where you at if your about the money. My trainer was getting all the training bonus pay+he was on the blade fleet and was still only making 75k a year which equals about 2300 bucks every other week in your pocket. I highly doubt your going to make that on any regional fleet either.

    You can talk to someone with more experience on Texas Regional here
    http://www.systemtrans.com/driver-opportunities/36

    If your interested in running Texas regional i would go ahead and talk with the Texas Regional operational manager. Recruiters won't be able to give you the down and dirty answers to the questions you should be asking if this is something your seriously considering.

    correction of previous post.

    Old dispatcher pay for the first 2.5 weeks of 2014 was

weekly avg gross pay
     $ 1,209.26

Avg paid miles per week
    2707.42

Pay per mile
    $0.45

Calculated Gross income
     $ 54,597.90

# of weeks paid
    2.56

When i was isolating those 2 weeks i forgot to take out 2 trips that didn't belong and it threw off the #'s. I've also been including my health insurance cost in my gross which is really part of my net so that boosted the #'s a little as well after that was fixed. So the difference is less dramatic with those corrections made. Tracking payroll is a pain sometimes.

    2014 is as follows overall

weekly avg gross pay
     $ 1,119.19

Avg paid miles per week
    2667.84

Pay per mile
    $0.420

Calculated Gross income
     $ 50,531.21

# of weeks paid
    5.13

And time spent with new dispatcher ONLY so far is as follows

weekly avg gross pay
     $ 1,063.25

Avg paid miles per week
    2636.96

Pay per mile
    $0.40

Calculated Gross income
     $ 48,005.96

# of weeks paid
    2.57

My goal for 2014 was to Average 1000 Gross per week so we are on track. Just to see the difference a dispatcher can make here's my time spent with my newbie dispatcher on the green fleet.

weekly avg gross pay
    878.95

Avg paid miles per week
    2392.92

# of weeks paid
    13.27

it was actually about 775 a week avg, but the newbie dispatcher got sick and i was given the privilege of being dispatched by the boss of all the dispatchers for about 3 weeks. With him i thrived like never before and in the course of 3 weeks i raised a 13 week average by $100 without even working that hard. I had Pre-Plans w/ routing & fuel the night before every single drop and he left me alone while i was working. It wasn't uncommon to unload,reload and still make 600 miles with my days all planned out the night before things went off without a hitch. Haven't found a dispatcher half his quality since he went back to managing and Probably never will :(...

    If anybody would like this spread sheet so they can track their #'s as well i'd be happy to share. I'd really be curious to see how everyone else is doing.

    I dont drive yet so sorry if this sounds dumb. When you say "weekly" are you driving 7 days? Also 4 weeks ago you said you got home 2x while training for 8 weeks? Have you been home more often? I realize you may not want or need to get home often. I am just asking. Thanks for the thread. I have been wanting to hear about Systems.

    Weekly means all working weeks spent in the truck. If i take 4 days at home then for that week i only worked .42 weeks for the purposes of calculating my average. As long as i'm in that truck i'm working as far as i'm concerned and it will be counted towards the averages.

    You can get a more thorough understanding of how i crunch my #'s here
    http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...rison-whos-making-what-where.html#post3844506

    As far as Home Time Goes at Systems Transport on the OTR Fleet
    -3 weeks out minimum
    -you earn one day at home for every one week out
    -maximum ''bankable'' days = 5

    I've been sitting far too often for my comfort lately (4 days in 2 weeks) since getting on with this new dispatcher. After spending 2 days doing her favors (and her screwing me out of promised hourly pay) repowering loads to make service and loading trailers for other drivers and she still couldn't find me a load out of our company headquarters i just told her to send me home as if I'm going to be sitting i might as well be at home.

    I was more of hoping that this would motivate her to get me a decent load going more than 100 miles, but instead she actually got me home which is fine to. my 3 weeks are up on the 17th. so that's when i'll be home. I've heard several drivers say they don't ever get home until many days or even weeks after they've requested, but for me every single time i so much as mention the word ''home'' to them i'm always headed straight back home on the next load. I've been on the East Coast a couple times and told them it would be nice if we could start working me back towards the house, but no rush at all. Every single time my next load is headed straight back to the house in California.

    I'm Still happy with the company as a whole, but the dispatcher really makes or breaks your experience here. We have the worst of the worst here and the Best of the Best. Someday I'm sure I'll get the best of the best again like i did when i was managed by the manager of all the dispatchers as my dispatcher was out sick. Pre-Plan's the night before every drop and a spare truck with loads everytime my truck went in the shop no questions asked. Until then it's just a matter of staying out of trouble and trying to make the best of things i guess :/.

    My new dispatcher who has been performing very poorly informed me that she no longer wanted to work with me after i calmly explained some of my #'s to her this afternoon.

    This is victory however as now that I've alienated myself from our two poor OTR dispatchers all that's left are the 2 good ones :D.

    I drove for them, on the Pole Fleet, up until 2001, when I got hurt, then spent the next year working as an instructor for their school and, later, in their IT department. I have to say, they are (or, at least were) a good company. I've heard that there have been some changes, but I liked it when I was there. I got a wife out of the deal, too, since she was working in Safety when I met her, so, all in all, a good experience, even with Bob D as a fleet manager.

    Funny you mention that. The pole fleet DM is known for running drivers extremely hard averaging over 3k a week and you get a 40cpm on all dispatched miles even if theirs no pole loads. No apu and a smaller sleeper kinda sucks though. Brett is running the pole fleet now and the only complaint i've heard about him is he ''gives you too many miles'' which really isn't possible on E-Logs.

    So that's more than likely where i'm going if they don't fire me for having such high standards of my dispatchers LOL

    When I was there, Joel P ran the pole fleet and Debolt Was the second. Joel was a great dispatcher and took real good care of us.

    Think I have a pretty good idea of who your dispatcher is... I used to not get along with her very well at all. I never had her full time but every once in awhile I deal with her. That is absolutely crazy if they cant get you a load out of Spokane... There is always some aluminum headed anywhere in the country out of there it seems

    Glad to hear it :). Just to clarify my response to your last post i still believe they are a great company. They have been honest and fair with me in all matters when i took the issues I've had to management. We have some real low class people here, but that's anywhere and they are the minority here. Overall you see a great Camraderie among System's Drivers always willing to help out another. System's drivers will pretty much always wave at one another when passing by out on the roads and even stop to assist if you are on the side of the road fighting a tarp or a load issue.

    I just felt that was important to clarify here for future readers as i've been talking about some of my issues lately here i didn't want this to sound like a bashful thread. The day that i no longer feel it is a good place to work is the day I'll turn in my truck :biggrin_25519:.
