. Only reason I'm asking is because i was told if the load is brokered as load 1/2 both the loads have to pass through the same port. i figured since we picked up at the same place going to the same place at the same time that might be the case, but i don't think we'll have an issue.
Mines showing Kingsgate still. Thanks for the tip though. Some of us oughta be able to grab a bite at some point somewhere.
I got lucky I'm pulling a 48' Step and not a 53'. I'm rolling up 95 and see from Council,ID to Grangeville,ID if you have a 53' trailer you need overlength permits. #### sneaky Idaho lol.

Finally loaded in Reno. I've had some long waits here but this one takes the cake. I have been here 12 hrs now. Goodnight everyone, I am going to black out for a few hours
-
I think I'm just going to stay shut down for the Blitz by force lol. I got offloaded yesterday and was told to pick up scrap in the morning at 8:30. I show up in the morning and they say my appt isn't till 12. I call dispatch who calls customer service and figures out customer service double booked the appt. After 2 hrs of waiting they figure i can go load at a different facility 20 minutes away. So i go ahead and head over their only to see the biggest ########### load of my life. Random bits of steel plate all over and steel tubing wrapped into a coil like shape held together by steel banding and nothing else. One of the coils was 1' wider than my trailer but the loader told me it would squeeze in when i tied it down. So we load the steel plates and the stack the coils on top of it and after i spent a couple hours trying to wrestle the thing into my trailer it's all for naught. It's still 4'' over on the left and 2'' on the right and the loader tries to tell me it will be alright and nobody will notice lol.
I call dispatch who's being a crabass because he thinks i should have called earlier meanwhile i'm soaking wet and exhausted after wrestling the #### thing for the last 2 hrs and the loader is still trying to tell me noone will notice. Dispatch's answer is to leave it there and come back tomorrow morning lol.
Get some good R&R at least up here in Calgary EH LOL.
I'll be at the FJ in Calgary next to the fuel island if anyone wants to grab a bite and BSMilktanker Thanks this. -
Just sharing a question i answered via private msg for future prospective drivers.
They do own their own truck driving school which operates on site at the main terminal in Spokane,WA Called DTS or Driver Training Solutions which you can go to and you should have no trouble getting on with Systems Transport once you get your Class A. The other alternative would be go to one of the Western Pacific Truck Driving Schools. AFAIK they will not hire out of any other truck driving schools but you could call a recruiter and find out for yourself on that.
You will be responsible for the cost of your Class A license and will need it before getting hired on, But Systems Transport does offer tuition reimbursement at the rate of $150 per month up to $5000. That will begin 3 months from your hire date and will take 2 yrs and 10 months to complete for a total of 3yrs 1 month to receive the full amount, but you must be able to prove you spent the full amt (they want receipts and contract agreement copies). If you only spent $3000 you only get $3000.
So to answer your question Systems Will not hire drivers with no Class A License, But will hire drivers with no Class A experience as long as they went to one of the aforementioned truck driving schools and meet all other requirements. -
I got loaded late enough Friday that they did not get my paperwork done for Canada so I had to sit in Shelby Mt. Until Monday morning to get cleared. Then I called the place and they told me can't deliver until Tuesday morning. So I rolled up at 7 am and sat until 13:00 getting offloaded there then turned and burned for Galloway BC to grab poles headed for Billings Mt area. So today I crossed the border, got a lvl 3 inspection at the first scale past the border, (passed clean) then stopped by the house for 2 hours to knock some of the dust and whiskers off and get some home cooking. Then hightailed it to billings. I finished tonight in the pole yard here with 2 minutes left on my 14. Kind of a creepy place. Right in the middle of a huge rail spur and pitch black this time of night.
That stinks on the scrap load ramblinman. I've been lucky and never had to pull that crapramblingman Thanks this. -
Man, a lot's gone on here over the last month and I've been rollin through it all. Switched to the 240 fleet and been runnin hard. Those 700 mile days are a doozy...
Definitely running more than I was on the 200 flt. 10k in April and 13k and some change for may. Not just running copper out of the desert.. Loaded a cement building in Hillsboro Monday and sittin in beautiful south fork co waitin to deliver I'm the am. 3200 miles Monday-Monday with a nice day and a half at home in MT.

I'm on another Oversize Haakens run from Spokane to New York this time. This one is just a baby though. 10'4 wide, legal length and only 13'8 tall. The permits coming east are ultra #########. In Ohio i had 12 different roads in 300 miles to avoid the Turnpike (10' width restriction). These roads included city streets,Residential streets,Posted Non Truck routes and tight 2 lane backroads. It took me 11hrs 39 minutes drive time to go 590 miles. I've only ever gone over my logs by 1 minute before and that was right after training. Nothing could be done here though as given that i spent all my time on surface streets and back roads the nearest truck parking on my route was passed 6 hours previously. There was truck stops nearby, but I'm not permitted to go off route to reach them. I just turned off the Screen and drove until i got back out onto the interstate where i could get into a rest area.
PA and NY are keeping me on the Interstates thankfully so as long as i make it off I-84 to my Consignee the rest of this trip should be a nice boring cruise control run and then we can GTFO out of the North Eastern Socialist Territories. -
240 fleet is Phoenix regional

I got my first load claim today on an OD load nonetheless.
Hauled it 2800 miles with no issues only to be forced to make a critical decision in the last mile that would either mean to wreck or to get a claim in the final mile. I could have just stopped and let him hit me instead of jerking right and putting the rear tip of my load into the guard rail, but justified or not i always avoid a wreck when possible.
The ###### up part though is that all the damage is some scratched paint on a 3/4" thick steel tie down point and a piece of dunnage protruding from the sides used to keep the plastic tight. I show the customer the damage and ask him if this will be an issue. He scoffs and tells me that's not an issue at all as if i was silly to even ask. He then signs paperwork which states that he agrees the load is in "ok" condition. I get 3 hours down the road and i get a message that the customer is contacting the Shipper asking to have it shipped up to Canada for Repairs at our cost...
This is the load that he's claiming is so damaged it must be shipped out of country for repairs. Lower left hand corner... -
The plus side here is they probably won't ask me to do anymore OD
. If they do and It's not a resume builder I'm just going to turn it down. I can certainly use my lack of experience and this load claim to form a good argument that i should not be trusted with OD freight. They don't care though because they are pocketing 4+ bucks a mile easy and paying me pennies.
Risking tens of thousands in fines, increased scrutiny by DOT and the increased risk of driving with OD loads for a meager 11cpm (Max) is just bad business IMO. The risk far outweighs the reward. I would have turned this one down except for the fact that i had a scrap load going to Portland that was going to make me sit all weekend. I won't haul scrap again either. I sat for 2 days unpaid on it and the load is more trouble than it's worth also IMO.
