sorry but overnight shifts at many restaurants are run at a loss. And since TA is owned by Hospitality Properties of America, it is all about being profitable, regardless of history or the clientele..
That is the same people who operate many of the turnpike rest areas with their overpriced food, and traded on the NY stock exchange.

its not fair to compare Country Pride to Dennnys, they have different clientele. I've seen plenty of Civilians at Dennys even when integrated into a Pilot/Flying J, which really suprises me. I also read something saying that Truck Stop food is better now than ever before
They are overpeiced for a few reasons, 1 being that they are a Monopoly, yes you can drive down the road a ways and get off the road, but you're not actually saving anything. I'm sure the Toll Road charges them alot for rent as well, they also probably get a portion of their total profits (don't malls do that?)
There is no point in running a business if you don't make a profit. you won't be in Business long if you operate at a loss -
I like this Petro. It's modern and the security does a good job of keeping the riff raff out. And as the Taco Bell offers breakfast, you have the option of ordering off the regular menu at this time. I can't believe someone will bypass this spot to go to the TA.

The fish place across street is good. I never have a problem with that ta, I stop cause I know I'll find parking.

a few days ago I ran inside to use the bathroom, the upstairs bathrooms were clean
one thing I find funny is how narrow the stairs upstairs are, I worry about somebody getting stuck going up/down them -
The Petro at exit 9 was built where that old Steel City was before with lots of parking and 2 Cat scales even back then. It's pretty decent now. All truckstops in that area , at least the majors, are using uniformed security guards.
The Petros are open 24/7. The J that was across the road from where that Petro now is got sold to Loves after the merger, and they have the 24 hour Denny's there, and the trucker lounge.
I have stopped in the early morning at that TA for a couple hours to do a few hours before heading into the city, but that requires having the time to do it. Or it being required due to using a split break. They have security patrols in the lot, and I didn't see any sigh of loitering or other suspicious activity there, but then again, the sun was comping up when I parked it. -
yep security patrol for the lot lizzards... last time I stopped there for the evening, the security patrol was letting the lizzards into the back lot....

some of you guys have vivid imaginations, I stop there often. the security does a good job
