If there aren't screws visible they just pop off with a screwdriver or a putty knife, they might not want to pry off easily but they will.

Looking at this picture the speaker is bigger than the hole. Modern speakers have wings with bolt holes like this.

I'd say that panel has 4 studs glued it just outside that grill area and the speaker is nutted to it from behind. I just did my car and it was like that. I had the same grills and they flared out behind the panel.

But I have seen them like Paul says. It all depends how the speakers are mounted. That might be an easy start to do what he says. Then go with plan B. If they are screwed through the front you should see the screws through that grille. If not they are nutted from behind and removing the grille would do nothing.

I would think the factory raised that whole console as a unit. See if that fake wood grain strip doesn't pop off. It's there for a reason and not just pretty. I bet it has screws or bolts under it. Remove it and a couple side ones and that whole console will drop down.

Them covey holes might pop out too. There's nothing easy about a stereo/speaker install. :)

I'll do a search and see if I can find something.

We have this which isn't much help.
